Watch him from now on. He likes to kick one leg high in the air. The last time he did it was during the "Everything is Beautiful" performance. A karate kick during that song was just bizarre.

So it sounds like Kung Fu Fighting WOULD be a good choice for him! :teeth:

The first spoilers are starting to come out about this week's theme. This picture was found of Ryan talking about the new theme from Wednesday night.

Might the theme have something to do with "baby" or "the year you were born"?

It is all pure speculation right now.

Maybe that's Carrie's baby photo? What would that have to do with a theme?

How can you disagree on how I chose to vote? That's a new one! I do not vote on the whole package! I vote on the voice. That is what I think this show is about and that is what I do. Me, me, me. You can vote how you want and that is fine. If I had to vote on looks too then I never would have voted at all for Clay Aiken!
I am not disagreeing on how you choose to vote I could care less about who you vote for or why you choose to vote for that person. I was and still will disagree that VOICE is what the show is all about, which I believe is what you said. You may not vote on the total package but that is IMO what the show is about. So to recap, I am disagreeing with you on what you think the show is about, not how you choose to vote.

I see other baby pictures on his lap.....don't know how it fits in though.

Apparently, after the show is done on Wednesday, Ryan brings a bunch of clues into the Red Room to disclose the theme for the next week. The stack of baby pictures might be those clues. Or, they might not. :confused3

I agree that the show is about more than singing, otherwise it would be called America's Best Singer. Being an idol entails more than just singing well, IMO. I guess if the winner was just expected to make CD's, it wouldn't matter about their performance skills and personality. However, the Idol contract includes many concerts and performances. If people have to close their eyes to listen to you, I don't think many concert tickets would be sold. I think that is why Simon is always referring to the "it" factor. He wants the winner to make him lots of money in many different areas.

Truthfully, did all past idol winners and strong contenders have the "it" factor? I don't think that they necessarily did.

Songs about babies?

They'd have to look at the Dirty Dancing soundtrack for some - I think every single song has the word "baby" in there somewhere.

Then there's Baby Love (Supremes), Having My Baby (Paul Anka) - but omg, I think I would be seriously ill if someone sang that. :crazy2:

Love to know why Carrie is on the top of that list. I can't stand her. I really hope she doesnt win and we can be spared her idea of entertainment.

I totally agree with your opinion on Carrie! She is so BORING!!!

Hi, everybody!

I'm not sure how many of you get the TV Guide Channel, but they have a 1/2 hour program every Thursday at 8 pm EST, called "Idol Chat". It's hosted by Kimberley Caldwell and another woman (I can't remember her name). They talk about each week's AI performances, song choices, and results, and make predictions for the following week. For those of you who get this channel, you might want to check it out.

I'm anxious to see what theme the producers come up with for next week. I like the idea of one-hit wonders and disco. Classic rock would also be great; Bo and Constantine would both do very well with that one! I think it might also be a good idea to forget theming for a week and just let the contestants pick their own genre, like they did during the initial auditions.

Whatever they choose, I hope it gives the contestants a chance to let their individual personalities shine through, instead of constantly trying to remake themselves to fit the new mold. IMHO, I think that's why so many of them did so much better in the auditions than they have in the past few weeks.

We don't get that channel, but I would LOVE to know what is said about the performances, songs, performers, etc. Would you mind starting a thread to fill in the rest of us? I know there are many participating on this thread who would LOVE to read it!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes

My, my getting testy over here aren't we. LOL! It's just a TV show!

I don't vote at all.... I figure I waste enough time watching the thing!

Hi all. Been gone for a few days. Had all the bandages and the last stitches from my surgery removed earlier this week and have not been feeling to grreat since. Today was the first day that I have been able to move around without horrible pain. The good news is the doctor says I am healing beautifully. But I must say I'll never be shirtless at a beach, pool, or water park again

In a similar vein, here's my wonderings:

If they do the same kind of theme nights like they did last year, where all the songs were by a particular artist (ie Manilow, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan), what artists would be good to pick? It would have to be someone that has enough well-known and popular songs that any of the remaining contestants could find a song to sing.

Any thoughts?

I also vote on voice alone. I certainly don't care about looks. (Look at Jim Croce...loved his music, buthe was not attractive. Thankfully I fell in love with his voice.) Personally for me, all the other "stuff" is distracting to me.

::yes:: Sure thing! I didn't get a chance to see more than a few minutes last night, but they predicted that Scott would be the next to go home. I'll be sure to watch it on Thursday nights and report back here on Fridays.

I think most of them were born in the 80's!

Scott, Anwar, Carrie, Anthony, Vonzell--heck, everyone but Bo and Constantine would be born in the 80s!
