Here are last week's voting percentages of mainland USA (from another site so I can't say for sure if they are true, although they are close to what we saw last night)

CARRIE 40.2%
CONSTANTINE 21.2%
ANWAR 9.7%
NADIA 7.7%
ANTHONY 5.1%
BO 4.2%
VONZELL 4.1%
NIKKO 3.9%
SCOTT 3.8%

Maybe this will encourage some people to vote more for their favourites.

Count me as another one who can't believe that Anthony was NOT in the bottom three and also can't believe that Scott was NOT sent home last night. WOW!!! I guess you just never know how America is going to vote.

Damo, I have to tell you, my DD would like to see Kalan Porter sing! I wonder if he will show up on any of the shows? They had the UK Idol on once.

Kalan is wonderful and plays a wicked violin!!! Here is a site with all the videos from Canadian Idol.
http://clay.redhottopic.com/video3.php

Listen to "Still" and "Nature Boy". Goosebumps!!! The top 6 group number is also worth watching. It features the top 6 idols singing and playing instruments.

Canadians sure would love if Kalan was allowed to make a guest appearance on AI.

Okay, here is my 2 cents on the issue with Scott, his past, and why I do not feel he should be where he is.

I am all for people making up for their past, learning, making a better life for themselves after they pay for their mistakes. That is not where the issue lies for me.

If Scott were to get a recording contract on his own talent and merit and succeed, more power to him. We all know the music industry is full of less than moral people and we can pick or chose who we want to be fans of or even put on a pedestal as an "Idol".

But I do NOT believe that he should be allowed to continue in this contest because of his violent past. If you are trying to promote someone as an "idol", I feel that person must have a moral standard that definately does not include domestic violence.

Kids watch this show dreaming of their chance to get up on stage and maybe become the next big singer and if we say to them "you can beat your girlfriend and we will still stand behind you, call you incredible (in the case of how Paula is acting) and make you famous".. what message are we sending them? That America doesn't really care about morals?

Geez Louise, we have enough trouble with the morals of our politicians. And you can better believe that anyone convicted of domestic violence would have a hard time getting far in politics.

I didn't watch the first three seasons but I have read on here that someone named Frenchie was kicked off because she posed topless. Well, why is what she did punishable and worse than abusing your girlfriend who just gave birth to your baby 3 weeks earlier?? I'm sure at the end of the day, nobody walked out of a hospital ER with bruises after what Frenchie did (ok, keep your perverted comments to yourself ;) :rolleyes1  ) Let me clarify though that I do not feel she should have continued either because she had a past that did not fit that of someone being promoted as an "idol" for youth.

Like I said earlier, I am not saying that Scott should not be able to make it on his own merits. If he can get himself out there and get a recording contract, that is fine by me. But I do NOT believe American Idol should be helping him do it.

You know what, ML, I totally agree with your comments. I don't like Scott and because of his past, he shouldn't have been allowed to compete to be an "Idol". With that being said, I don't understand why people are being so hateful regarding his situation. Don't vote for him because he doesn't deserve to win the "Idol" title, but outsiders with no first hand knowledge of the situation have no right to call him derogatory names. I am a firm believer of until you've walked in their shoes....I wasn't there. I don't know what happened. There are always three sides to every story. His, hers and the truth.

We need to think of the things in our lives that we've done wrong. I'm not a real religious person (I'm working on that), but I do love the verse "Judge not lest ye be judged". I will not point fingers at people because I am certain that I deserved to have fingers pointed right back at me.

ETA: I just realized what a hypocrite I can be. I totally judged Michael Shiavo when I had no first hand knowledge of the situation. I apologize for that. Even realizing what a hypocrite I can be, I haven't changed my opinion of him. This is exactly why I don't think we should point fingers. Here I am pointing fingers at all of you for being judgemental when I deserved fingers pointing back at me. :)

DH and I thought it in very poor taste that Scott simply walked away and didn't shake hands or anything with Nikko.
If you noticed when all 3 were up on stage Vonzell tried to hold Nikkos' hand and he wouldn't. So I highly doubt Scott was doing anything wrong. Perhaps Nikko has a thing about touching others hands.

I don't mean this to be insulting or anything, but WHO is Anthony's fan base?? Who votes for him? (I don't mean individual posters, I mean group of people) There has to be a big demographic and type that is pulling for him otherwise he wouldn't be getting this far. I was just curious.

As for Fantasia, she merely reminded me of the horror that was season 3. Leah LaBelle? Camille Valasco? Jasmine Trias? Matthew Rogers? Come ON! If any of this years contestants were in it last year they would be my American Idol in a heartbeat. Season 3 is just better to put behind us and move on.

I have a 10 year old niece and she was visiting me a couple of weeks ago, and we watched American Idol. When Anthony came on, she spent his entire performace staring dreamily at the TV screen like she never saw a cute guy before. After he finished, she said that ALL the girls in her class *LOVE* him soooo much!

That, I believe is his audience, and they watch a lot of TV!

The only surprise last night for me was Vonzell being in the bottom 3. But, I don't really see her as Top 3 either.

Fantasia - absolutely horrible. I know she had a moment or 2 of greatness last season, but last night's spectacle reminded me of why I didn't like her singing style at all last year. :Pinkbounc

Scott - handwriting is on the wall with this one. His confidence is shot now.

Bo - if Damo's statistics are correct, then that would explain why Simon is no longer on his bandwagon.

As each person is eliminated, I think the distribution of votes will change. There is bound to be a surprise or two in the bottom in the coming weeks. I am guessing that Carrie has consistently been on top and seems to be pulling away from the rest.

Anthony - target audience - tweens most likely. My 15 DD and I liked his story at the beginning but realize that he really can't be considered in the top at this point. I'm surprised he wasn't in bottom 3. I expect him to go either next week or the week after.

Scott has the sympathy vote. Enough already!

He looks evil...he sounds terrible, and if he is an American Idol, I am moving!!

Well I vote for him because I LIKE HIS VOICE. Is that plain enough? I know so many people that vote for him because they too like him. Everyone just seems to be making up excuses as to why he is still here. Must be because some folks like him! Personally I think there are 3 that are better then him. I know he won't make it to the final but I want him to go as far as he can. Of the ones left I think Anthony, Anwar, Constatine and Bo are worse then Scott ever is. I forsee the winner as being Carrie though I don't think she is that great. I think Vonzell has them all beat.

Scott was convicted of disorderly conduct not domestic violence. Does anyone know why he wasn't convicted of domestic violence? Was there not enough evidence supporting the charge? I know what his girlfriend said happened, but did that not hold up in court? Just curious.

Im one of them! While I'll admit the last two weeks weren't his greatest, before that, from the auditions I have liked his voice...so I won't give up on him yet!

I happen to like Anthony too (NO, I'm not a 'tweener'!) but it seems like his songs are all starting to sound the SAME! I, too, was surprised that he wasn't in the 'bottom 3'!! (JMHO-I thought that Vonzell was WA-A-A-A-A-Y better!)

So it was actually way worse than him just throwing a phone at her...what a jerk.

Well I just read it and it said it was just a phone. I didn't read anywhere in that article that said he hit her or did anything else to her. As I've said before it doesn't matter! I'm voting for the voice. That IS what this competition is about. Perhaps I'd reconsider my vote if I were electing the pope!

I was surprised to see Vonzell in the bottom 3. She was fantastic for the past weeks, and has really come into her own on this show. She deserves far better. I was surprised that Anthony was not in the bottom 3. I have a 10 year old DD, and she likes Anthony, but isn't allowed to use the phone to vote. (Guess that means all of the votes from our house go to Anwar and Constantine;)) Even so, there are others she likes better than Anthony... her big thing is the "miracle boy" hype... not that she thinks he is cute. I am sure that plays into alot of his votes.

I was really thinking that Scott was going to be the one to go because of the bad press and thrilled that he got a reprieve--- I firmly believe that he should be given a second chance to make a go of whatever he wants after making this mistake. It was time for Nikko to go, if Anthony couldn't.

I am hoping that Anthony will be next, with Scott after that--- it isn't as though I want him to win, I just don't want him to be out on any other reason than his talent doesn't measure up to the others.

With the way that Ryan was questioning Anthony and Bo, it made it seem as though they could have easily been in the bottom 3 this week, but squeaked out to bottom 4 and 5. I really wasn't impressed with either of their performances.

Things are really going to get interesting when it gets down to only 6 left!
