Yes, but they are public figures now. I guess that is part of the process when you becoma a "star". :)

I don't see Carrie and Bo togethor. I think that they probably have other people in their lives. Bo also hugged Mikahla. I'm sure that it was just a nice gesture.

I was suprised to see Nadia in the bottom three. Maybe it was the mohawk? :earseek: I was also suprised about Anwar too. Oh well, atleast Mikahla is gone! :)

I thought I noticed last week that Bo was wearing a wedding band? :confused3

I probably wouldn't use the word "creepy", but I would tell both Constantine and Carrie that they need to connect to the live audience more, and forget about the camera.

I totally agree. One of the reasons I've begun disliking Constantine is that he seems to love the camera almost as much as he loves himself. He's OK, but he isn't all that.

Well, I'm a 'he,' but thanks for clarifying. I agree that if you take away Mikalah, everyone else is pretty good.

I don't know what made me use a pronoun at all. I had to reason to guess gender. Sorry about that.

I have always wondered if they are legit when the give the lowest three. Really, how would we know? They don't publish the results that I've ever seen anyway. It's certainly a possibility that the producers throw in a few faves to boost their fan base to vote more the following week. I'm not a huge fan of Nadia's and I thought she seemed quite annoyed to be in the bottom 3 by her body language but I do wonder if she really got the 2nd lowest number of votes.??

Can't you just see an expose 10 yrs from now saying the voting results were fudged? It's like Quiz Show all over again.

As has ben discussed on the AR6 thread about Rob and Amber's participation and whether or not they're being aided, AI is convered under the FCC rules for game shows. Misleading the audience could be interpreted as attempting to sway the voting in the future.

Okay, I should have read the next few threads before chiming in on the vote count issue. It was already covered.

As far as Carrie and Constantine looking into the camera? What's the big deal? They're playing to the audience. Nothing wrong with that. Besides, Carrie is really only looking at me. You all think she's looking at the rest of you.

I don't understand these evocations of hate this guy or that girl. I don't care for Constantine. I did not like Fantasia last year. But I don't HATE either of them. That is such a strong emotion. I hate terrorists and racists, but I don't hate others just because they are not what I envision they should be. What did they ever do to me personally that I should hate them? They didn't hurt me or my family, never committed a sin against humanity or did anything criminally wrong. All they did was not appeal to your tastes. Say you don't like them, wouldn't buy their CD, would turn off the radio if you heard their song? But hate? Why?

I noticed that Carrie does the same thing when she sings. Her eyes just follow the camera lens. They're both great vocally, but I think they need to forget about the camera. It does look a little "creepy" after awhile.

Don't you think they are being TOLD to look into the camera as it swings by them? Nadia does it as well. In fact, I think most of the contestants do. Scott is the only one who seems to never look into the camera. (Can't tell behind those glasses.)

I think the people who have performed quite a bit, like Bo and Constantine, are just more comfortable 'connecting' with their audience at home.

I thought Mikahal handled things very well last night.

I agree with you 100%. There have been several contestants on AI that I have not personally liked...not b/c of who they are as a person, just as a performer. Mikalah definitely comes to mind. Do I hate her? No. Does she annoy me? YES! Do I think she can sing? No. Am I glad she is no longer in the competition? YES! Her stage personality really annoyed me and I was really glad she was voted off but I don't hate her personally b/c I don't know her. She could be completely different IRL...although I suspect it's "what you see is what you get" with her so she might very well annoy me IRL too. But I am in no position to pass judgement on her as a person. I only judge by what she does on AI and as a performer.

They look in the camera to connect with the audience. It makes people feel closer to them. If you are a performer, thats something you need to learn how to do. yes, there are some people there that are live but the majority of the audience is through that television screen.

Nope, but I loooooooooooooooooove him, so it wouldn't bother me. And for those who comment on the teeny bopper fan base...I'm 39.

Yeah its annoying cause I'm 28. Definately not a teeny bopper.

Well, I may have to start voting just to get Constantine off. Sorry, bedroom eyes don't do it for me... He sounds like a cat in heat!

And as far as Nikko not being in the bottom 3 is beyond me. I don't know if anyone heard him during the group song, but he sounded horrible! But then again, that's how he sounds most of the time. I'm still shocked that people vote for him and keep him out of the bottom 3. I think it's completely unfair that he's actually in the top 12 because he was voted out. I know I'm going to be complaining every week until he's gone because he's the one person I can't stand.

not trying to argue because everyone is entitled to their opinion and you have the right to dislike Nikko,it is a singing competition BUT wow, from this post you make it seem like Nikko has done something wrong to you personally. What's beef?

He isn't the best singer or performer BUT some people do like him just as some have liked others contestants that have already been voted out. I guess I'm saying that the intesnity of your dislike for the man confuses and astounds me

I'm a Nikko fan here. I vote for him. I like his sound, and this week was one of his best performances I've ever seen. Perhaps he now deserves to be there more than Mario because he wants to be there. He didn't punk out when a better offer came along.

I will continue to vote for Nikko, he's better than some of the people still left and he's a good performer.

I must be the only person that CAN'T STAND Constantine. I kind of liked his rendition of "I Think I Love You", but I can't stand to watch him. I really hope he goes soon. I think he is on a major ego trip and don't see what everyone else does in him. I hate how they keep pitting him and Bo against each other as "The Rockers" too. Bo, is TRULY talented. I could watch and listen to him all day. My top three pics are Bo, Carrie, and Jessica.

I am so glad that Mikalah is gone now. I couldn't stand how her nasally voice came through in her singing. She had a very powerful singing voice if she could just get rid of the nasal. When she was talking last night I kept thinking she sounded just like The Nanny. ugh The rest of the season should be interesting now.

Nope, I don't like him either. I think he looks like someone who would stab his best friend in the back to get his way. He is always posturing and making faces. NOT cute at all.

That said, we were looking through my old yearbook last night. (Graduated HS in 1976) we come across a picture of a boy I graduated with that looked so much like Constantine it was almost funny. Same exact haircut and scruffy facial hair. He really did look like him.

I'm a little surprised that Nadia was in the bottom group, but I guess if it was based *just* on the last performance then I kind of agree with it. That was definitely not a good performance for her.

Overall she's a better singer than many of the others that are left, but that last one just left me cold. Actually I considered muting the TV during it. Which really surprised me, because I really like her.

Boy do I agree. I love Nadia, but if we're voting on each week's performance, then she did deserve to be in the bottom. Especially if we're comparing her to the other performances that night. She certainly wasn't able to hide her displeasure with being in the bottom 3. Maybe she could take a lesson from Mikalah on outward appearances.
I know that people think that singing into the camera is weird. I do think that they are targeting the audience that counts - us voters. The studios audience isn't as important. I think that it's more weird that Scott doesn't look at the camera at all. Makes me feel like he doesn't care what we think. Which is kind of what I felt about him during the audition part. He knows he's the "bomb" and couldn't care less what other people think. He does have a tremendous voice, but he doesn't feel "approachable" to me, something that I think is important if he wants people to buy his CD's.

Just curoius...how many of you would be so "candid" with your analysis of the performers if you knew they were reading the boards...or better yet, to their face? I just can't help but think how awful it would make me feel to read about how total strangers "Hate" me or think I'm "creepy" etc.

Sigh.

I definately would be just as candid. My brother in law is the lead singer of a local heavy metal band. We go to nearly all of his shows, and I am the first one to tell him or any of the other bands what I really think of the performances. I'm no Simon by any means, but I am straight forward. He knows I say it out of love though.

You might be interested to know that Constantine was trained at the Boston Conservatory of Music and was a member of the touring performance of "Rent".

Not sure why this would change anything....Interesting, yes. Change the way I feel about him? NO I know that they all tend to look toward the camera, but not all stare into it and make goofy faces. ( My appologies to Goofy :) )
There is jsut something about him that rubs me the wrong way. I can stand to HEAR him more than I can to watch him though.

Does Scott even have eyes???? With or without glasses you can't see them. :goodvibes I have to admit that I couldn't stand him in the beginning either. I was totally turned off by how he acted during the group stuff. I do like his voice alot though. I'm glad that they gave him a shot even though they didn't think he had "the look".

I agree! Nikko is one of my absolute favorites and has been since the beginning. I am glad he was brought back and I will be rooting for him unless something happens and he just suddenly bombs. Everyone has their own taste and he fits mine!

Count me in the Nikko fan club too. I think he has such a classic, smooth R&B sound. I could listen to him all day. Even if he doesn't win, which he probably won't, I hope he makes a CD. I'll buy it. :)

I like Nikko too. He may not be the best singer out of the group, but I think he can sing and perform. His style is R&B. Nothing is wrong with that. I was also glad they brought him back :cheer2: . I hope he sticks around for a little bit. ShuisFan really has it out for Nikko?
