Here's my personal take on tonight's show.

Scott: I think this is a good song for him and his voice, but the guy doesn't do anything for me...I have to agree on the lack of personality, which is a shame. He has potential.

Anthony: I was never a big fan of his. I liked him originally, but he wasn't a favorite. The past few weeks...kinda blah, for me. Tonight though, I thought his performance was rather fun. I really enjoyed him; it was one of my favorite performances of the evening.

Bo: Yuuuuuck. I like rock and all that, but tonight I just didn't like him at all! And yet he still got praise? Puh-lease... he improved as the song went on, but it wasn't spectacular nor did it seperate him from any other performer. I was just sitting there waiting for the next to come on. He's done well in the past, so I'm not going to claim him as the worst based on one performance I considered asi asi...

Travis: Disappointing. Out of all the song choices...why this one? It didn't show much talent at all...

Mario: He did excellent!! At first I was nervous that he was going for a ballad instead of one of the more fun songs, but I remembered how he caught my attention in the first place: singing one of MJ's ballads. I feel he did extremely well, and he remains one of my top 2 favorites. I agree with Simon: the boy's got charm! And an adorable smile to top it off!

Constatine: I used to like him, but each week I like him less and less. Tonight was okay...although I walked out of the room as soon as he came on, and only half-listened while directing my attention elsewhere. I guess that in itself says something about him...you want to have a jaw-dropping performance...or at least be able to catch peoples' attention....hmmmm.....

Anwar: My other favorite. I loved his performance tonight as well. I thought he was superb!! Some weeks weren't the best, but I felt he did really well tonight. I would not be disappointed if he won it all.

Bottom line:
Who should go?: Travis and either Scott or Constatine.
Who am I rooting for?: Mario and Anwar

As for those asking for the appeal of Mario and Anwar...I'll tell you my personal opinion: For me, a person's personality plays a *huge* part in whether or not I like them as a performer. Talent can get you far, but if you don't have a personality, how are we supposed to relate to you? I'm turned off by any cockiness and attitude like what seems to exude from time to time from Constatine or some that are no longer on the show. Maybe they don't fully act it, but it's the vibe they give off. I fully respect any of the "nice guys." I like the change. I don't like the "bad boys" or those who are more demeaning of women or anything along those lines. But those who have a sweet innocent charm, such as Mario (adorable, sweet, Mama's boy...lol) and Anwar (children's music teacher) are more apt to win my heart in a competition. Plus, both DO have talent. Even if it's not the best voice, you'd have to have a *heck* of a good voice to not need any personality or anything to go along with it...

I'm shocked and respectfully disagree. I love Sting! He's had an amazing career with The Police and as a solo artist. He's a great songwriter.

Hey, I LIKE Sting! I agree with everything you've said! But the man cannot sing in tune. It's not horribly off - I mean he's no William Hung that's for sure! But all of his songs make use of the fact that he's just that little bit... off. And they do it incredibly well. But that's part of the reason why no one will ever be able to sing a Sting song as well as Sting can - I just can't imagine anyone else ever being able to match that quality.

Which is why, in a way, I have to kind of agree with Simon (!!!) on Constantine's performance. If you're going to do a Sting song, you have to do it your own way - you can't try to do it like Sting 'cause you'll never be able to. To me it's so disappointing, I just think that Constantine has the potential to do so much more than he's been doing.

Yep, that is what I think is going to happen, too... although I have grown to like Scott. The others were just too good, and Constantine has the youth vote.

Maybe it's just 'cause I'm a guy and I'd rather be staring at Amanda Avila ( ), but....I really don't get what's so great about the guys.

Well, I am a gal and while I don't personally feel the need to stare at Amanda Avila, I do agree with you about the guys. I can't understand why everyone is making the guys seem like they are so great and the girls are terrible. I think the talent for both sexes is about the same. I only like about half the girls and half the guys. I would quit watching AI if they had all of the current guys in the top 12 and none of the girls. Thank god the DISers on this thread don't get a say on that one. No offense to my lovely fellow DISers...that's just how I feel about that.

And will someone please explain to me the fascination with Anwar? Everyone here likes him, everyone there likes him, but I can't stand him. I don't think he can sing that well, and he keeps on choosing these classic songs that I think sound twenty times better when sung by the original artists. I think that I just can't get over the atrocity that was his "Moon River."

I never have understood the fascination with Anwar. I don't personally like his voice at all and would never buy a CD of his, but that's just me. Another one I have yet to understand the fascination with is Constantine. I didn't like him during any of his performances. I didn't like him during his very first audition either...when he completely butchered a good Aerosmith song. I was surprised the judges let him through. I also don't find him that attractive...but I guess to each his own.

The only guys that I like at all are Bo, Scott, Nikko, and Anthony. I might not mind keeping Mario around for maybe one more week either. He has had a couple of good performances and I think he has the potential to get better. But as far as Travis, Constantine, and Anwar...I just don't like them. I am sure Anwar will make it to the final 12 though since so many people DO like him. So I guess the ones I would want to see go this week then would be Travis and Constantine.

I found myself giving Anwar a standing O from my bedside! What an ending to the show!! Hey BACK OFF LADIES, hes' MIIIIIINE~~~~ EVEN though he's nearly HALF my age!!

I said it before and I'll say it again, there should be more guys than girls. Maybe we can keep ALL of the guys and get rid of FOUR of the girls... can we say Mikayla and 3 others???

I think this week it should either be Nikki, Mario, Travis or Constantine....none of them do anything for me. Anwar-AWESOME....I like BO, Anthony was really good, Scott should hang around another week but her won't make it.....I just hope the girls are better this week, last week only 2 of them were any good ...the guys are so much better this year than the girls!....just hope Mikayla goes bye bye this week!!
I started voting tonight around 945 and had no trouble getting through on scotts, bo's or anthonys lines but anwars it took some time to get past the busy signals.

Great show last night. Really all of them did very well. Who do I think will get the boot??? Scott and Travis. I hate to see both of them go. I'm with Robinrs, boot 4 of the girls!!!! And even though Constatine wasn't all that fabulous I think he will be in the top 12. I think someone posted earlier that he could sing Mary Had a Little Lamb and still be voted thru. I agree. We voted for: Scott, Bo, Anthony, and Anwar. . .Anwar. . .Anwar! Our entire family was blown away by Anwar's performance! Clearly, the best technically of the bunch.

It will be a tough call this week. For the most part, I thought all of them did pretty well--weak links this week were Travis (buh-bye!) and I hate to say it, Constantine.

I'm with the poster earlier--Mario just bugs me--the sexy, longing, smouldering eye looks just gag me! Then again, I haven't liked him from the start with his comments about not needing to "make friends" with the other contestants. While I admire his determination, the attitude wouldn't win people over either. You have to wonder (or at least I do) how the contestants do relate to one another. When the camera goes on they all appear supportive. I'd have to believe it's much more cutthroat than that in reality.

Here's my take on the guys.

Scott: He just gets better every week and I still don't think we've seen the best he can be. I like to close my eyes when they sing and really listen to their voice. He has the voice of an angel. Score: 5

Bo: Another amazingly consistant performance. This guy just has it all!

Anthony: A much better week for him. I disagree with Simon. So what if he sang a latin song. He did it wonderfully. Usually I agree with Simon but his thoughts last night about Anthony's choice would be like saying Barbra Streisand shouldn't sing Christmas Carols. Score: 4.5

Nikko: Ugg. Off key and he looked really uncomfortable out there. Too bad because he'd been one of my favorites nearly every week. Score: 1

Travis: As cute as he is and as much fun to watch, the man just can not sing. Seeing how this is a singing contest, I don't see him on the show much longer. Score: 3

Mario: Started off a bit weak with this great BeeGee's tune but by the end had made it his own. Score: 4

Constantine: Never been a favorite of mine. I just don't think he's a very good vocalist. Last night did nothing to change my mind. Score: 2

Anwar: The best range of any of the guys but there's still something missing with him. Great performance last night though. Score: 4.5

Who I want to be gone: Travis and Constantine
Who I think will be gone: Travis and Nikko

Could be just because I like Constantine, but I see more attitude and cockiness from Bo than him. Could also be that I like Constantine's style of music better than Bo's classic rock, too.

I totally agree with you, I'm unclear on why they are doing the guy/girl thing. Pick the most talented! At this point I'd pick all of the guys over the girls....not one of the girls has reached me this year, but all of the guys have.

Sadly, since that is not the case, I'd have to pick Travis and Scott to go. Travis has amazing stage presence, but is not up to par vocally; with Scott its just the opposite. His voice truly is that of an angel, but his stage presence is not up to par with the others.

My favorites are Bo, Anwar, and Nikko, in that order. Constantine has sex appeal, hence the reason he is still there and will continue to be there for several more weeks; Mario blew me away last night with his Bee Gees tune, but I haven't been impressed with him in earlier performances; and Anthony has a beautiful voice but no "ummph". I'd still pick ANY of these guys over last year's winner, Fantasia, or runner up, Diana. The competition this year is amazing.
