Official: All Star Sports pool CLOSED 8/27 - 10/4

Surfboard Bay Pool and Kiddie Pool at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for refurbishment Monday, August 27, 2007, through Thursday, October 4, 2007, reopening Friday, October 5, 2007. For Guest convenience, the Grand Slam Pool will remain open. Guests may also take advantage of the four other pools offered at Disney's All-Star Music Resort or Disney's All-Star Movies Resort.

This information was discovered by calling CRO and directly from several Walt Disney World CMs. I noticed this was a new change to the refurb dates and wanted to share.

This is horrible news! Our 3 y/o is a water baby and the kiddie pool is great for us not having to worry about him in it. Had I known this when booking I would have gone to one of the other AS hotels. I called and they have nothing available at any other AS hotel. I will check back next week when the 45 day hit and hope someone could not pay for their vacation and there something open. Thes CSR said that we could go to any of the other Disney property pools and with Movie & Music close we may hit those if we can not change hotels.

I better call and change my ASMU room request to one not facing the main pool..

I wonder how this will effect the crowds at ASMU?
We are staying there for the first time in Sept and I like relaxing by the pool for my afternoon breaks, but not if the pool has 2 hotels worth of people at it.

Does anyone think a lot of ASSP people will come over to the ASMU pool?
