Official 24 hour celebration announcement

I am so excited! Going to be there this year after just following along all day on the live feed last year! Can't wait!

Glad this was announced much sooner than last years. My flights and rooms are booked already anticipating - should be a great time!

SO UPSET I have a wedding I have to go to that weekend. We went last year and it was AWESOME! Now they add costumes!! I would be there even if to drive 8 hours just for that.

Wooohooo! EXCITED!

Although it will be PACKED, I want to go to at least say that I went.

I was at the original 24-Hour "I took the leap and didn't sleep" leap year event in Disneyland.

For anyone who has done the 24 hour opening before...are all the attractions open for the entire time?

My wedding IS that weekend. Oh well. We're staying at the Swan on Sunday night so we'll get our Disney fix then. :)

I am currenlty booked to get in on the 23, maybe I should add a night before...

First - CONGRATS!!!!! Enjoy every minute of it!!!

Second - the wedding I have is a niece on Sunday and I would so drive down for this and turn right around and drive back ...... but relatives coming in for the wedding are staying at our house. Do you think they'd notice if I were missing for a couple days? :rotfl:

Uh oh...after rereading the announcement, it says a "selection" of beloved attractions. I'm really just wondering about Splash Mountain, especially since it isn't in evening EMHs anymore.

Oh man, they're inviting people to dress up!

So come as a prince, princess or pirate; a monster, a mermaid or even a Mad Hatter—whatever rocks your Disney Side!

I SO wish I could be down for this. I wanna be a princess! :tinker:

Get a cardboard cut out of yourself made. Prop that up in the house for a few days.

Last year the majority of the park stayed open all night. It was the food places that were shutting down so be sure to get some eats in you by midnight. We found after 1am or so the park was not crowded and many "cheaters" :rolleyes1 were asleep on benches all over the park. The best parts for us were:
(1) Meeting Mickey and Minnie in their pajamas
(2) The end of night dance party in front of Castle around 4:30-5 :thumbsup2
(3) Good-bye party in Town Square
(4) Leaving on the ferry with the sun RISING

OH OH HINT HINT: If you want 24 Hour Event T-shirts you have to get them early. I tried to buy around noon and they were all gone except for super big or kids. Hopefully WDW learned and will be better prepared this year. Being the early announcement and the push for costumes I expect it to be crowded!
