Will I be able to use dining plan snacks on the special party snacks?

I haven't quite decided how to schedule my MNSSHP day. I have a park hopper pass and originally intended to not go to the party but instead take advantage of lower attendance during the day. Now that I am partying 😁, I wanted to do both, plus fit in dinner at Be Our Guest. But something tells me that I should do BOG another day during my stay, eat a late breakfast at the hotel (Epcot resort) (keeping room in my tummy for all the Halloween-themed food later!) and enter MK around 2pm and stay through the party. Going to MK before rope drop and then leaving early to chill out back the the hotel and then returning for the party would be a tad too much back and forth for me.

How are you all managing your day when you intend to enjoy MK before as well as during the party?
If you don’t want to do back and forth to hotel, what works for me is to book an ADR around 1:30 - 2:30 and take a long indoors break.

Last year I had a hopper so did another park in the am, went back to hotel for a break and arrived at MK a few hours before the party.

Mobile won’t let me edit my post…

To clarify, MK crowds on party day are low so it’s a more leisurely day for me. Sometimes will book ADR in MK but have also booked at a monorail resort too for off lunch hours but pre dinner.

I think you have a great plan -- sleep in/late breakfast at resort, enter MK at 2, and enjoy the party, get your wristbands while you're already in the park, enjoy the party treats and save BoG for a different day.

Personally, I'm going to rope drop and take a break at the resort in the middle of the day. The plan is to take advantage of Early Entry/Rope Drop for Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Tron, plus breakfast/snack and whatever attractions I can get done. My hope is that with strategic enough planning/ILL, I can wrap things up by noon and then head back to AKL for pool time/nap/refresh before the party. Not in a rush to join the crazy 4pm entry crowd so will probably get back to MK closer to 5. Not looking forward to the back-and-forth travel between AKL and MK but I've found from past experience that a long break relaxing in my own hotel room versus just an AC break at a restaurant is necessary if I want to make it throughout the entire party without crashing :faint:

There are 2 spots they hand out wristbands inside the park, Tomorrowland near Monsters Inc. and Adventureland over by Tortuga Tavern (which is always less crowded than TL). In the past they were way less strict about waiting exactly until 4pm—I got wristbands just before 4 at AL pre-Covid—but reports from recent years suggest that’s not the case anymore, and you’ll be at a disadvantage from either location compared to people coming in at the front. If Jack and Sally are a priority I would just try to be at the front of the line to get in and head straight there. Even if you’re a bit back you’ll look at a much shorter wait than if you were trying to come from TL or AL.
Do you have to have a wristband to get in line and see Jack and Sally at 4:00 p.m.?

My family is going to be at MK on the first party night and we have party tickets too. So, if we are already in MK and MK doesn't close until 6:00 p.m. can we just get in line for Jack an Sally at (say for instance) 3:30 p.m. without a party wristband?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the party hasn't started and the MK isn't closed to day guests so I'm not sure if you need to have a wristband for that 2 hour period between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to do character meet and greets.

This will be our first party and Jack and Sally is a priority for my DW.

Yes. The line opens at 4, and they will not let you in it unless you have one. CMs will check. The only reason they open the line so early even though the meet and greet is party exclusive is because the line gets and stays so long all night.

Will this be the same situation for The Seven Dwarfs? We will be attending for the first time this year & they are our character priority.
Thanks!

I am planning to go with DH on 10/15 but since our airfare is still outside of my budget (need 1-2 more months of SW points on the VIsa), I have not "locked in" our trip yet. I have booked everything that can be refunded if we can't go, but the whole purpose of the trip is the party.

That being said, I would like to get our party tickets bought before they sell out, but I am worried about what happens if we don't go. I see that people have been able to get a "credit" for a future party....that might actually work. My friend and I are going in December and we plan to do MVMCP. Would a "credit" be applicable to a MVMCP and would I be able to buy the ticket for my friend with my husband's credit?
Try purchasing through Undercover Tourist. They have a 95% REFUND policy as long as you don't use the tickets up until the event actually starts. That's where I bought our tickets for 10/31.

For those who are Halloween Party Veterans, our family will be attending on 10/31 and we have ZERO interest (pun intended) of seeing Jack & Sally. (My wife is not a fan of the movie to put it mildly).

That said, where do you all recommend going first for characters at 4pm? Snow White and the Magnificent 7, Winnie the Pooh and gang? We will be with our 5 and 2-year-old who love all the classic characters (and Stitch).

Any info on a good opening game plan without wanting to see Jack & Sally is much appreciated!

Others will share I'm sure but I don't believe most of the party exclusive characters begin meeting until 7PM.

So just to clarify some information on this thread -- people can start lining up for characters at 4, but most of the characters will start meeting at 7. Jack & Sally are an exception to this and they will usually start meeting closer to 4:30 because of how high their demand is and the fact that they are usually indoors (has been Town Square Theatre for the past several years), where day guests have no chance of seeing them.

If you want to meet Stitch, Winnie the Pooh, the 7 Dwarves, etc. you can get in line for some of them starting at 4, but again, you'll be doing a good deal of waiting before they come out. If you're set on meeting the 7 Dwarves OR if you have any interest in meeting Bruno/Mirabel this year, I would pick one or the other and hop in line at 4. The advantage to this is that you'll be doing the bulk of your waiting before the party begins, leaving more time during the actual party to meet other characters or do other activities.

I would argue that this wouldn't be necessary for a lot of the other characters like the Winnie the Pooh crew, Stitch, or any member of the fab five -- you could probably hop into anyone of their lines at 6:30 and only have a few families ahead of you.

Awesome! This was exactly the info I was looking for! Much appreciated :)

Final question, is it frowned upon if I hold a spot in the line while my wife goes with the Kiddos to get food, go on a ride, etc? I can see them getting antsy to wait in line for over 2 hours before characters show up.

In my past experience, people in these MNSSHP/MVMCP extended character queues have been very understanding re: letting a member of your party take short "breaks" with the kiddos, leaving to use the restroom, leaving to grab food or a drink and come back, etc. as long as nobody is gone for an absurdly long amount of time. These are more "unofficial" queues than anything before the character attendants start popping up around 6:30, so there's a kind of a shared expectation between everyone that we'll all be cool and let each other handle our business given that we're waiting multiple hours together.

Glad I was able to help! Hope you have an amazing time :)

Heads up, it looks like the booking for dining and dessert parties has changed from this Thursday to Friday instead.

Thanks for posting that information! I hadn't even realized that it was opening at all. I thought it was the regular 60 days + 10 for resort stays

Question about the dessert parties. I'm trying to figure out the cancellation policy.

I see this
  • There is a one-day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if the Guest cancels within one day or is a "no show" for the reservation.
  • This experience does not allow for modifications once the reservation is confirmed.

What does this "no modifications once confirmed mean"? My party is Aug13th. I can safely cancel if needed on Aug 11th (without worrying about when exactly that 24 hour window starts) Is that right?
