Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

Got there just before 7 and was quickly wristed up and walking down Main Street. First stop was DD's pick Small World and that was a walk on. Second was DS and DH pick - Tomorrow Land Speedway. 10 minute wait which is the shortest I can remember.
Buzz Lightyear - 5 minute wait
Space Mountain - 15 minute wait
Shopping for Halloween Ears and then it was getting closer the start and the crowds really dispersed and then
Haunted House Walk on
Peter Pan - 10 minutes
Winnie the Pooh 5 minutes
Ariel - Walk on
Thunder Mountain - Walk on
Jungle Book Walk on
Pirates Walk on
Aladdin - walk on
Dumbo walk on

Went through candy stops when they were close. Some took awhile (the one at Splash Mountain and only ONE piece of candy) and others fast (Gepetto's - big fist fulls)

No wait for treats - if you want to have popcorn with a closed box get it over near Pirates - much easier to throw in a bag.

We watched the Calvacades in sporadically between rides. Didn't do any Memory images - the lines were very long. Did stop to check the merch on the way out and a Halloween Minnie ended up going home with us.

I haven't been to an after hours event since a MNSSHP 15 year ago, but this was well worth it for us. We got to do the rides with little wait, some free treats and a small crowd.

So I’m only disappointed to hear that PP and HM had 25 min lines all night! That’s not so great for a 3 hour event...

Hello , I purchased and was sent 4 Boo Bash Hard Tickets for the event (like litle credit cards, but they dont say our names on them). Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Boo Bash Event. Could I give just them to my cousin and her family to use?

Seems to me Disney would have more than just a few angry non-party guests if they were told they could not enter rides up until regular closing times. They may not have paid for the after hours event, but that event should not diminish the day folk's experience.

If I understand the theory, the idea is...
  • For the rest of August, the MK closes at 9pm and the AH event starts at 9:30pm
  • This way day guests can get in line right up until and including 8:59, just like normal
  • At 9pm, AH guests can then enter the ride through the FP entrance while the Standby line is temporarily closed at 9pm
  • In a reversal from the norms, Standby line takes priority to get the day guests through the ride and out the exit
I'll find out next week in person.

Are they already linked to MDE? If yes, you can reassign them to your cousin’s family via the app/website (assuming you are linked as friends and family….if not, you’ll need to do that first). If they’re not linked, you can just give them the hard tickets.

Kenny the Pirate post this last week, but I've never seen it corroborated, "Event guests with wristbands will be allowed to use the Fastpass line to enter an attraction 30 minutes before park closing! ... This will ensure all Regular Admission Guests are out of the attractions by the time the event starts. Be sure to ask a Cast Member if you need assistance."

The only first-hand report here said that AH attendees were allowed in the FP line at 9pm as they continued to work through day guests in the Standby line, but the Standby line took precedent. That would seem similar to the above.

Thank you for this information! It makes way more sense than what I had read on SM.

I’d cal Disney and ask for a refund. With COVID they might be more generous with making refund exceptions than they used to be? Worth a shot!

It's me again! Didn't see a dedicated Boo Bash thread, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a strategy question for you experts. My daughter is not a fireworks fan, but she understands that we will be there during fireworks on BB night (no WAY am I missing precious time by not arriving until 9!). Wondering about the best location for her to be out of the big crowd and noise (she'll wear her noise cancelling headphones, too), but where I can maybe see just a little (selfish, I know, but we'll be there in mid-october, and I want to see the anniversary show soooo badly). I was wondering about riding People Mover during the show?? Hanging out in Adventureland? Thanks, as always, for your collective wisdom!

Somebody gave you a link to an answer which I didn't read. Just thought I would mention that for one of the Halloween parties, I stood near Splash Mountain to watch the fireworks. I could stand next to the fence near the water so there was nobody in front of me. Great view of the fireworks. I couldn't see the projections on the castle, but I didn't care. But I think maybe those fireworks were done during party hours, so fewer people in the park at the time?

I was at last night's event and, after being able to reflect on it, I realized my issues with the event were the same as when I attended After Hours at Magic Kingdom a few years ago. No need to go into a long spiel but essentially a three hour event does not work for someone like me who wants to hit every ride available when the park hosting it has so many rides (for example, I had more positive feelings about After Hours at Animal Kingdom). In the past, I've been successful with riding everything at MNSSHP either by going to an earlier party or doing more than one party in a trip.

Anyway, two main takeaways from my experience: prioritize what you want to do (you can't do everything) and even when sold out, the event is a much better experience than a day ticket right now (the two hours leading up to park close reaffirmed my decision to hold off on a future Disney trip--this trip was just Boo Bash).

How my night went:

- Arrived at 6:45 pm and they were already letting people in.
- Under the Sea (posted 25 minutes, wait ~10 minutes)
- Splash Mountain (posted 80 minutes, wait ~60-70): I didn't want to have such a long ride take up a chunk of the three hour event, so I sucked it up and went before the event. I'm still not sure if that was the best decision. The line was a complete free-for-all: less than half of the people wearing masks, kids climbing anything they can find, people cutting. This was the experience that confirmed that my cancelled 2021 trip will remain on hold.
- SDMT (posted 60 minutes, wait ~20): Jumped in line right before park close. By the time I was at the front of the line, they were letting people with wristbands enter through the Fastpass queue.
From 9-12:30 am:
- Mad Tea Party
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Buzz Lightyear
- Peoplemover
- Astro Orbiter
- Swiss Family Treehouse (the only time I got that "empty park" feeling haha)
- Magic Carpets
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Haunted Mansion
- Barnstormer (2x)
- Space Mountain: Biggest disappointment of the night was the wait time dropping and then going back up right before close. Posted 30 minutes, actual wait ~15-20.

I did four treat lines (had wanted to do all but didn't have the time). Three stops for the free food (Tomorrowland had longer lines than the other areas of the park, it seemed). Saw the Mickey and Minnie cavalcade by chance. If I had to change anything, I would've done better prioritizing as I had to skip some rides I had wanted to do (and rode some early on that I didn't really need to).

Overall, the only longer wait I had once the event began was Space Mountain. Would I do it again? Not sure. But it was my first time back at the parks in two years and I'm glad I went.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the Peoplemover was running for this event? I don't believe I have seen it mentioned and really, its is the only ride I plan on riding for 3 hours.

ETA: Of course as soon as I posted this, I see a new post referencing that the Peoplemover was in fact running. Thank you @pingviini!

Okay- rides to prioritize:

HM
Pirates
Small World
Pooh
Thunder Mountain
Jungle Cruise
People Mover
Speedway (maybe)
Space or Splash if we have time

Mine Train we may try before party.

I think our best bet will be to start at Jungle Cruise and make way to Fantasyland, end in Tomorrowland?

We waited maybe 10 minutes for Peter Pan at the start of the party and we did Haunted Mansion just before midnight and there was no line… the stretching room was maybe a quarter full. Everything else was walk ons other than a 25 minute wait for 7DMT.

It was, but some of the vlogs showed it broke down.
Oh. 🤦‍♀️
I was on the PM back during MNSSHP in 2019. We were stuck within an easy walking distance to the loading platform but they made us sit there for over an hour. Good chunk of our evening kaput... I won't be doing PM again or recommend any one ride it during a time sensitive event.

Yep I was there too that night a lot of people didn’t show up that night due to the hurricane that was coming. Wasted over an hour on PM and they gave me one fast pass to use the next day when I went and complained.

when you purchased, did you link to MDE? If so, don’t forget to transfer it to her there too. It yes’m you can give to cousin and her family to use.
