Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

This was our experience as well. In May 2019, we were directed to a bus labeled “Monorail Loop” to get to the GF after the event.

Did you find the waits super long? Just wondering if we should stay to bitter end or jump in line for bus!

I honestly can’t remember, which probably means the wait was not too long. We did stay until the end, and it was worth it!

The only after hours event I tried to leave early, the bus didn’t come until the event was over anyway. I wished I had just stayed in the park, lol.

Ha! I can absolutely see that happening to me. :D

We will just enjoy the entire time and not worry about the waits. thanks!

We've done several of the traditional after hour events and the lines for the busses were non-existent. Seriously, the park was so empty feeling that it was only when you walked out you realized there were any significant number of guests at all. We used the busses and there was one sitting there waiting for us every time- no wait at all.

I would not expect that with this event as I assume it will be significantly more crowded. That said, I wouldn't give up a second of park time just to get in line for the busses. However crowded it is, it won't be anything like the end of a regular park day.

I can't imagine leaving a 3 hour event early to wait for a bus but that's just me. lol

We don't leave the parks early on a regular night to wait for busses. Just hang back in the park, give it 30-45 minutes and the crush of people are mostly gone- and you get to walk out in a near empty park. Some of my best memories are watching the kiss goodnight and strolling out of a near empty park to a bus waiting to take me to my resort.

Yep, we are the same way! Especially when paying for an After Hours event or party, you better believe we're staying until past the end. The last time, we had our own personal bus take us back to our resort since we were some of the very last ones to leave the event. :)

For Boo Bash 2021, I see it allows "elaborate headwhere", costumes, etc. I would like to wear my tank top and pants but also my Twi'lek lekku headpiece with my Mickey ears on top. The headpiece is not much different than wearing a wig. Im concerned I may get turned at the gate but wanted to see if wearing a lekku would be passable for the Boo Bash event. Thanks for replies.

Just realized my 17yo wants to be a Jawa. The rules probably eliminate this option, yes?

Also, have I read correctly that face masks (covid, not costume) must be worn? I thought vaccinated folks could go maskless outdoors and in now.

I believe costume masks are not allowed for guests age 14 and up (see last bullet point of costume policy). As far as covid, the current policy can be found here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/#drawer-card-faceCoverings

For Guests 14 Years of Age or Older:
Costumes may be worn according to these guidelines. Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from Disney parks, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards:
  • All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
  • Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
  • Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
  • Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
  • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (for example, full-length Princess dresses)
  • Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
  • Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable.
  • Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
  • Masks of any kind may not be worn (unless they are for medical or Guest safety purposes)

I was just really asking if buses are crowded, perhaps we will walk out 15 minutes early or so. We never stayed entire time at MNSSSHP - would get bored near the end, but that was a longer night. I'd rather leave 15 minutes early than wait in line for the bus for an hour!

Sounds like it's not an issue.

As stated above, they will not allow a mask to be worn by anyone over 14yo....the other issue with the Jawa outfit would be that they wear robes that reach the ground, and again, those are prohibited. That said, I've seen people with robes reaching the ground in the parks, so I think that part might depend on the CMs. Unfortunately, the rules end up excluding a lot of cool outfits. But I totally understand Disney's safety concerns.

Also, depending on when you're going, that costume is going to be HOT! Really consider that, I remember going to an October MNSSHP not even wearing a costume but a t-shirt and shorts (October 30th mind you), and sweating through my clothes, I can't imagine wearing a really big elaborate costume with robes or anything. This especially goes if you are going in August or September, October you stand the chance of possibly having slightly cooler weather, but take temps in to account when planning outfits. Also remember that anything long will be a pain in the booty when getting in and out of rides, and could get stepped on by other people or by ones self even if you find yourself going up stairs or a hill (splash, big thunder, space for example).

The three of us just bought different Halloween t-shirts. I have a fun headband thing.
I can wear mine with shorts/jean skirt if it's hot or jeans if it's cold!

(it's been both for us in past Octobers)

Halloween night. We used to live in Florida, and this will be our fourth Halloween night at MK. My kids are so acclimated, they could wear ski suits and be fine. ;)

Well that's convenient lol, my kids are pretty much the same living outside of Augusta GA, our weather is pretty similar to Florida for a good chunk of the year. Although, they still wouldn't want to wear robes to an outdoor event, I don't blame them, they pretty much roll with the heat and humidity but even that would stop them in their tracks. The rogue Hogwarts robe aside, they pretty much stick to lighter materials. I'll probably just stick to a fun t-shirt myself since I'm going in August.

So they added more capacity…seems like it’s gonna to be a Diet MNSSHP. We only have ourselves to blame. Pay more for less? You think Disney will refuse that?

Now this will go into Mickeys Snow Ball less for more

If anyone is keeping track of sold out dates, looks like Friday October 8th is listed sold out now. I don’t think I saw it mentioned as sold out before.
