Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

It isn't clear if Disney has been holding back tickets to spread out sales, or if more capacity has been added to the event.
🤷‍♀️

That article is exactly why people come away with expectations they shouldn't have. " According to the same ticket page yesterday, 13 dates were sold out. To add this new availability, Disney has increased capacity at the event, although the event will still remain capacity limited with anticipated short waits for rides." The event is not described as having "short waits for rides". They only said "shorter waits"....seems like an insignificant thing, but it's huge. Shorter than what?

But this article claims it is increased capacity. Disney has never really held back tickets for these kinds of events. I've never seen availability pop up for an After Hours event once it's sold out. There's no reason for them to throttle sales.

Wonder if at least some of the new availability is due to ticket exchanges…I swapped a ticket for 10/12 (sold out date) for 10/10 - that could help explain why opening day and 10/31 still don’t have tickets - don’t think anyone bought those because they would ‘work’ for their schedule but a better day open up -
***JUST SAW THE NOTE ABOUT INCREASED CAPACITY - SO GUESS NOT

That wasn’t Disney saying they increased capacity (all though that appears to be what happened).
What you’re saying is possible, but it seems like that wouldn't make all of the dates available at the same time - wouldn’t those date changes make tickets available by the next day like with hotel reservations?

Looks like finding more tickets is exactly what they did. Honestly, I'm not surprised. No one should've gone into this thinking this was going to be a traditional after hours event with the low crowd levels those come with. This was predictable once they saw how quickly people were willing to buy.

Sorry for giving them the idea, folks.

I sure hope the next thing they do isn’t putting in a a Nightmare Before Christmas E ticket.

I just called and was told the extra tickets added were because of ticket exchanges and the phone issues when tickets first went on sale.
🤨

well, now the date I wanted is available again, but I was really hoping they’d add an additional day.... *sigh* back to the decision of whether or not to get tickets and whether or not it will be worth it. 🤦‍♀️

I'll be shocked if they don't add more. The Sundays will start selling out more. Remember, all the people who were literally on the phone for days couldn't even get the Sundays. I bet a lot of dates will start filling up at some point. I just hope they don't "find" more tickets for all of the dates.

And literally a few hours later, they found more tickets

Although, let me admit that I find it funny that Disney didn't increase the 8/10 tickets so bloggers can still say "wow, what short waits" and con everyone into coming for the future dates which will be much more crowded - nice play, corporate! Bloggers should really go the next few dates to compare...

Are Boo Bash tickets refundable?

Yeah, If these dates STAY available for weeks, things may get ugly.

I’m doing this instead of buying single day tickets for me and my daughter. I expect to get more rides in this short time than during a full, possibly really hot, day.

If Princesses come back before September, the decision will get much harder.

I’m sure we’ll get a report from someone who makes an irate call later today on their willingness for refunds.

Well, I sent an email and a PM on twitter to guest services.

I know it won't make a difference, but makes me feel better! :D

So how much extra capacity do we think they are adding here? Another 5,000 tickets? I do find it extremely suspicious that opening night is still sold out since that’s the event all the bloggers will be at. Wouldn’t want them to experience high waits and post it on YouTube. Or maybe I’m just being overly cynical.

Someone on another forum did a live chat and got told they opened availability due to guests changing travel dates and additional capacity due to the increase by the state- makes no sense as there aren't any capacity limits from the state. But they tell them to call if they'd like a refund. Really, that's all anyone can do. Either go and put up with whatever crowd level there is or ask for your money back.
