Official 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend

So I am signed up for the 5K. I've been in physical therapy for a few weeks, and won't be ready for a 5K by then. I am still going to be at WDW during that time. I see that the 5K is sold out, so I have a 5k registration available. PM me. Thanks.

You guys - they're predicting a high of 50 here at home this weekend! (For contrast, it was 16 with a feels like of 2 this morning.) I might actually get to do my long run this weekend OUTSIDE!!!! Woot woot!

Supposed to warm up in Northwestern PA on Sunday, just in time for my birthday! It's 11 degrees here with a wind chill of -1.

Any spot recommendations or tips for spectating the SW half? We ran it last year but wasn't really paying attention on spectating locations. This year we have a group of 5 going plus one spectator. So excited! I want to work out a plan for my friend to see us, and if anyone has some ideas for good spots that would be much appreciated. I can do the timing math for our pace and expected start one we have corral confirmation. Off to go work on my costume!

World Dr. is a bust for spectating, so your first option is really the AK parking lot, which is a pretty great spot to find your people, speaking as a runner. Next would be somewhere on Osceola, but that's a little tricky to get to. Outside DHS is an option, as is along the path next to BW. After that, outside the YC/BC is an option, as is World Showcase in EP, if the friend has park admission.

rD does not allow transfers, FYI. IDK what DIS rules are regarding posting on the topic, and I'm not a Moderator, but just wanted to make sure you're aware that as far as rD is concerned, giving or selling your bib to someone else is against their rules.

If you're able to walk, you can walk the entire 5K. I walked the 2018 Dark Side 5K and finished in over 90 minutes including selected character stops.

The Weather in Canada has not been cooperating for a run outside. All of my training miles have been on a treadmill thus far. They are calling for warmer weather this weekend (-6 Celsius) and no snow, so I'm hoping to get a decent road run in. I just keep reminding myself that as long as I'm doing something I should be ok.

How far ahead of the weekend did the event guide come out last year?

It's normally three weeks ahead of the race. We got the waiver email last year on March 30 (or at least going back thru emails that's what I see). The guide and waivers should come out towards the end of next week I would guess.

I thought the same! But I have to expect with this earlier deadline they are under HEAVY construction right now. I'm still going to hope it could happen!
