Do you guys think the first party will be extremely crowded or does the vloggers make it better to be there? We went last year on the first party after thanksgiving and it was solid out but we didn't feel like it was unbearable. Was able to do everything and meet jack and sally in under 30 minutes somehow.
It really depends on what your priorities are for the evening. The party will almost certainly sell out. Anything “new” (fireworks, food, merchandise, ride overlays, characters) will be mobbed by bloggers all trying to post the first report. Lots of people will be live steaming the shows/parade making it harder to grab good spots. Everything else will be manageable. And honestly, with a good plan, most sell outs are generally pretty manageable as well, as you experienced. Just expect a large media presence filming and photographing everywhere!

Focus on trying to go on one of the Tues/Thursday parties it at all possible.

Thanks, yeah we really only care about riding the rides with low wait times and maybe meet one or two characters. Last year we did all the rides and food early and were able to get a great spot for the last parade. Hoping its just like that because last year was great.

Yeah it's going to be very crowded. Just get here early and keep a positive attitude and have fun!

What are the crowds like pre-MVMCP start (4:00-7:00) on Fridays? I already know to expect crowds but so I'm good there. Just wondering where the relative build occurs or if it's an onslaught due to earlier parkgoers still being in the park, DVC entering early, and regular party goers entering as early as 4.

It’s complete chaos with day guests still in attendance and party goers entering. I always plan dining or FPs during these hours.

Same! I was able to get BTMRR, 7 Dwarfs all before the party even starts on my first party night on the 8th this year. Was surprised but I got it.

Hi all, looking for some advice. I am debating between Sunday 12/15 or Tuesday 12/17 party. I have heard that going during the week should have lower crowds but who knows lately. Which would you recommend? Also clarification on the food. We've been to the Halloween version and got the candy, so for the Christmas version there are food stops where you can get free treats? Also do they sell holiday themed treats as well at different locations? Thanks

The 8th is the first party right? I've wondered if that wouldn't be a great party to go on all the rides, because the bloggers will be taking pictures of food and parades.

I'm not sure of the two I would recommend. I'll leave that to the experts. I believe they have different free cookies at various stops and also paid holiday treats as well (you can check the front page for an idea of what they had last year unless they've since announced those treats for this)

I'm not sure you can schedule fastpasses unless you have regular park admission (which would mean no FP even for DVC). I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't decide and I need your help! I just realized there is a party on the night we arrive in Orlando (12/12) and now I really want to consider attending. Our focus this trip is a special event at Universal on Friday and Saturday night that we have tickets for; so no Disney in the plans this trip. We are only in Orlando 12/12 - 12/15.

Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 PM on Thursday 12/12, which happens to be a party night at Magic Kingdom. There are 6 adults in my traveling party so it would be expensive. Oh, I just can't decide. Maybe my daughter and I should just sneak away to go to it and leave the guys back at our rental house!

Part of my indecision is hearing that the past parties have been more and more crowded, which makes it not seem worth it.

Thoughts? :)

Clarification on the seasonal holiday treats you can purchase... is this only available during the party or are these holiday treats available to purchase during the day? I thought I read that several of the stores are closing at 8PM/9PM and we want to indulge on most but want to time manage appropriately if some places close at 8 or 9 during the party.

With the possibility of flight delays, I would not pre-purchase party tickets but would try to get them after arriving.

Some are party exclusive, some are available all day. When the treat list is released, it will specify which are which. Those that are party exclusive will be available all night.

Selfishly, I like the parties with just two people, so I vote ditching the guys and going with just you and DD! So much easier to just go with the flow!

These parties are crowded affairs, but heck... for a little MK time and the spirit of the holidays... I sure would be tempted.

That's my plan as well!! *Fingers crossed*
