Note: I’ve gone back and read some reports about July 21st and was flabbergasted to see that folks experienced crowds and problems! That was not my experience at all. It is so interesting that people can go to the same event and have such different experiences and views.
If anyone here is on the fence about this event, I highly recommend it! We’ve been to several MNSSHPs and a couple MVMCPs, and the after hours event beat them hands down. We went on July 21, arrived about 7:00. Crowds were nuts, weather was hot and steamy, and I was seriously second-guessing my decision. The sun went down and fireworks happened and then everybody left and took the heat with them! We rode and snacked all evening. The longest wait was maybe 8 min at 7DMT, even though the posted wait was 20 min. It didn’t take much longer than to simply get through the queue and then wait for the next train. We rode Buzz (a personal favorite for sentimental reasons) 3 times in a row without getting off. We had Mickey ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches, popcorn, water, and sodas. All locations we visited had plenty of snacks. There were parts of the park where we didn’t see another person, esp near the Gaston statue and the Little Mermaid area.
I hate the heat and crowds and this event is the only way I’ll visit WDW in the summer. If you haven’t gone yet, get your ticket today!
