******Official 2017 Free Dining Plan Watch, Wait, and Dream

The Early Morning Magic at MK (and HS for a little while) were created to entice offsite guests into the park. There was even a one-day dining plan for MK they tested. The only thing that has remained in the EMM at MK, and even that has been scaled back to fewer days. There's not much they can do to entice off-siters into the parks. I had a friend who did an Orlando vacation just last week. She didn't do any kind of research; just thought they would go down and do all the different things: Disney, Legoland, Sea World, etc. The one-day ticket price at WDW astounded her, and they didn't go to WDW. People who think going to WDW is like going to Six Flags or any other theme park probably will never be enticed to do WDW at current prices, and I don't see Disney reducing those.

You'll have to get to the FD offer FIRST. That should give you your options. If it doesn't, get the dining plan that comes with FD, then wait about a week and call in to upgrade.

They have offered significantly discounted 4 day tickets, 1 park per day now, for almost all of 2017. The prices still aren't quite right, but they are trying to discount the actual tickets to get people in...

Still restless for 24th. And waiting on new job offer.I hate ambiguity.Sigh.Once my dining and resort is finalized I can work on my touring plans and start getting excited again.

Great question and I'm nervous. So on 24th which dining option do I select QS or Reg plan if my intent is to upgrade from QS?
Once you've selected your resort and tickets through the special offers page for FD, the next thing it should show is the type of dining plan you want. You should be able to go ahead and select the regular dining plan here.

What's in the welcome packet? I don't remember.

Also for those that don't go check in. When can you use your MB for entry and dining? Like what triggers it? I would love to skip that part.
Last year we got a fact sheet about POP, map of the resort showing our room location, paper with the number of dining credits we had and a parking card for our car. It use to come in a nice little folder, but we haven't gotten a folder in a while.

I'm actually more excited about the rumoured dates. I didn't think the Saturday before Christmas was going to be included. If the rumours are true and it is included, I will happily book QS fd at Pop and stay til January. :santa:
I know, me too! Now that I know our arrival date is rumored to be included, I took the kids out shopping this weekend for a few things for our trip (even saw Brad Paisley at the mall). If I can just get a room booked on the 24th, I can finally get started on our Halloween party costumes! :hmghost:

Can anyone please repost the free dining rumor that Black posted?

Looks like free dining could be dropping on April 24. Minimum of 4 nights, maximum of 14, with park hopper and park hopper plus add on. Check in dates: 8/13-9/30, 11/14-11/20, 11/25-11/27, 12/3-12/23. It also appears that values AND moderates may get quick service, with regular dining only for deluxe resorts (I hope that is wrong).

As always, information is fluid and more detail will hopefully come.

Where does the leap from 2 day PH to 4 day come in?

The Brazil deal requires a 4 day hopper. Details for that dropped before black posted and the details on blacks rumor where exactly the same as the Brazil fd. Except for the four day hopper which black didn't provide any details on hopper length requirement.

All I know is the last numbers I heard were SA visits were way down.
Lot's of variables, but Disney is smart (clearly).....a few notes according to financial reports:
1. Brazil, Argentina, and Venezuela experienced 10%, 15%, and 34% declines, respectively, in visitor counts to Florida
2. 5% year-over-year decline in domestic guest counts @ Disney
3. Guests have been paying 18% more for single-day tickets than they did a year earlier
4. (analysis of results) 6% uptick in parks and resorts revenue and the 13% spike in the segment's operating income are impressive feats in a climate of cascading guest counts
