If you ask for a refund from the DVA, they will put the money back on the same form it was applied - so if it was from a GC, you need to be sure to keep those cards, as they will refund back to that card. Same as a credit card - refund goes back on the credit card.

Holy Moly, I guess I better start keeping my GCs. I can't see canceling this trip but that does make it more of a mail biter.

I thought of this to. I got $200 in GC from Target to make my deposit and the cast member reminded me to hold on to those cards because if I cancelled they would put the amount back on the card. That makes perfect sense but if I have to cancel it would most likely be Financial reasons and 2 thousand dollars in Disney gift cards won't help me. Lol. I just hadn't thought about it.

You don't think my mortgage could be paid in Disney dollars???? What is wrong with this world?!

Or, you could leave it in there for the next trip, however, they keep saying that the $20 bonus is a limited offer...now they say it COULD end Dec 2017... It's a good deal though, if you can use it!

Lol. Some are busy I didn't mind the recap. Kids aren't feeling well which means for the last few days we've been in suspended life mode and I'm just taking care of them. I've had extra time. Tomorrow I have to resume real life. Lol.

We have a sick one here too. I'm going crazy with the Lysol and Clorox clean ups.

Not sure if this was already asked - what is the upgrade charge for QSDP to DDP this year? it was $19.57 a night per person previously and I have to assume it went up.

It's the difference between the quick service plan and the Disney dining plan per night. $20.99 per adult and $4.04 a night per kid.

I really don't think there will be any FD standard rooms offered at POR. But I would just leave it for now. I would just wait to see what's available at this point.

Thanks, I think I might switch it now. I can always try to switch it back to standard later. We're really relying on FD this year and the whole thing is making me nervous.

There actually was a perk last year. We all got to book at the same time. But the public FD dates started 8/23 and the Visa dates started 8/14. So when I checked in on 8/17, I was able to get FD because of my Visa card. If I didn't have that, I would have missed out on FD!

No deals for me. I'm already booked with the Savory Summer Offer (1 CS per person each night) and with the value resorts only getting discounts on preferred rooms it would cost more and no free CS each night.

Did you spend the extra $ to upgrade? I was told it's about $ 40.00 a day per adult.

We're in VA and have the same issue with start time! Our county starts super early this coming fall....8/14!!

Maryland just passed a law that schools can't start before labor day. That's how it was when I was a kid. It's nice because it allows for more family vacation time. Kids were getting out of school at the end of June and going back mid August.

Well if you get in a really tight pickle... you can sell them. You'll lose some value but it's better than nothing if you really need $$.

I have to learn how to do spreadsheets. We're going regardless, but looking to save the most $, which definitely would be FD for us. About $2700. Hopefully there are some Nov or Dec dates, we're flexible with either.

Our state can't decide what to do. I don't really care when the kids start or when they get out I just wish we could not have so many days off. Let's start 9/1 or 8/1 but let's cut out all of the 3 and 4 day weekends and end the school year earlier. It'd be so much easier to find care if we only had full weeks off. With all of the 3 and 4 day weekends we get it is every bit of your vacation time just to cover those days out of school!

I decided not to set my alarm, as I was pretty certain it wouldn't be free dining. I have a terrible time getting back to sleep after I've been woken lately, so I didn't want to be exhausted today for nothing. Then I proceeded to dream that I missed the release and I was trying desperately to navigate a slow and glitchy website to try and get it. Apparently my subconscious didn't agree with my decision to not get up and check.

I stayed up as long as I could. Then I went to bed and also, dreamed Disney.
