Curious, if FD is blacked out of all of October, are the room only discounts also blocked usually? If the dates are true, out dates won't be included and still hoping for some sort of discount.

There were RO discounts last Fall that included October.

At least you have options for Swagbucks. Up here in Canada I have little choice for place to redeem. I'm mostly doing Starbucks as I can at least get drinks or snacks at the parks with it. Amazon is the only other one I have been redeeming Gift Cards for. They use to have Best Buy, but it's gone now.

If you are interested in eating at Yak & Yeti or Rainforest Cafe, you could use the Amazon gift card to buy a Landr'ys gift card on Amazon. It does work. I've bought Hotels.com and Landry's with amazon gift cards.

Lol. Funny! Swagbucks and about 12 sites like it is how I have funded my entire trip.

Be careful though with the target cards. It has gotten harder and harder to turn those into disney cards. Have to do it in store and only some will.

We have used this several times and it works well for us open a Disney vacation account with $20 from your credit card and put your money into your high yield savings account and hold it there until ready to book. then take out $200 go to target and get Disney gift cards with that money. That will hold your reservation until 30 days out, at 45 days withdraw the vacation balance and buy the rest of your Disney GC that way your money will only be locked in for a short time instead of a year or so. Best of both worlds interest from the savings account and red card savings plus the bonus for the trip. I know it is a gamble for the last month or so but how many times do you cancel a vacation 45 days before you go? Even if you have to postpone the money will still be there for the Disney trip.

Great way to maximize the savings...I like it!

Yes you can, but I believe you have to have the account open for at least 120 days before you can use it.

I'll also point out you have to have it open for 120 days BEFORE your payoff date (IIRC 45 days in advance?). So you really need to have it open for 165 days if you want to claim the gift cards before your vacation. Also keep in mind any payments you make before the 120 days will not count towards the gift card.

I use Swagbucks in Canada. I just put it in Paypal. Then I can buy what I want with it. Collected over $600 in the last year and every time I hit $25 I add more. Easy.

Well, are you aware that Mr. Black stopped in and dropped a bombshell? That's back on page 380 but this is what he dropped.

Looks like free dining could be dropping on April 24. Minimum of 4 nights, maximum of 14, with park hopper and park hopper plus add on. Check in dates: 8/13-9/30, 11/14-11/20, 11/25-11/27, 12/3-12/23.


As always, information is fluid and more detail will hopefully come.

Has anyone ever cancelled a Disney vacation package before? Was it easy to get your $200 back? DH just called and told me he'll find out about the job by he first week of May ...while I'm excited to have an end in site this doesn't help my situation with my BB! Now I am definitely going to have to make a second reservation if FD comes out 4/24. However, one will have to be cancelled-either the BB or the new booking. Is this easy to do?

Don't think so, because when you rent points, you pay the owner for the DDP and they pay Disney.

I keep reading that Pop will be hard to get for FD. Will the other value resorts be hard to get as well?

So, I was just on FB for a minute and noticed that the Dis had posted an article about the rumors and our little thread. My thoughts: "Don't post it on FB!!! We want to keep these rumors on the down low!!!" Yep, like no one in the world outside this thread knows about FD. I may have lost my mind a little! Haha!
