Disney will also see that as basically twice as many bookings, lowering the chance for FD.

Most people would only have two reservations after FD is released. Those second rooms that people cancel seem to get released in waves as additional FD rooms a week or two after the initial release day.

If I'm unable to modify my current reservation I will definitely be booking a second reservation to get free dining. I'll wait a week or so to cancel the original booking so I can avoid the long hold times

I would do the same thing. Not only do I not have a modify button, I do not have a cancel button online.

I use to but they both disappeared about a month ago. I went to add DME and an extra night and had to wait 45 minutes on the phone to make the change and that wasn't even at the start of a big promotion. Without an 800 number I'm not willing to wait hours to speak to someone.

It's just too frustrating to try to get through. I don't have the patience.

The difference with doing this is you're not hording 2 FD reservations, just 1 reg and 1 FD. People book 2 or 3 FD reservations until they decide, which sometimes is months after booking, where they want to go and it's taking away from other people trying to get. Disney won't run out of reg rooms as fast as FD rooms.

I think most of us would book a new reservation to get free dining. I would cancel the old one ASAP though to avoid hurting someone elses chances. I still had the cancel button on the old reservation. I only lost my modify privileges apparently. Now that I cancelled and rebooked I have both back.

So.....I was just shopping around and trying to look at some rates and got this message "Booking is currently unavailable, we are working on it, check back soon"

Joining in the watch. We're flexible on dates but were hoping for mid-november, late-november (after Thanskgiving week) or early december.

Likewise! We have 3 WDW visits under out belts, 10/09 ~ FD, 10/13 ~ FD, 10/14 ~ no F/D - we need FD this year!

When I try and edit my reservation (see pic).
