Maybe I am just an eternal optimist/have Disney colored glasses but I feel like they wouldn't do it just as a money grab (it's not like a Cars 2 where there are a ton of merchandising opportunities or anything) and with Dick Van Dyke involved, just feels like it is more likely to be good than bad. I'm sure it won't be practically perfect in every way - but at least "good"

Oh yeah, I don't think it is a money grab or anything like that. I just love the original so much I don't want it touched, at all. But simultaneously want it addressed because I want more of the magic in the original and, as you said, with Dick Van Dyke, it has to be good.


Though I thought Travers didn't want any more movies made off of Mary Poppins, so it is a little questionable to me that her estate allowed it against her wishes.

But maybe there WILL be more of a Mary Poppins presence in the parks, which would be awesome!

I agree. It did make me squirm a bit when they started booing as I don't think that's the place for people to be expressing their displeasure with it. But, you can tell people had respect for Marty and they really gave him a rousing response when he was done speaking on the matter.

Speaking of Poppins in the park, does anyone know the reason why she only appears in her white dress? I heard there was a specific reason why she could only appear in that outfit.
