I agree with this. The first thing I do when I check into my hotel is start hoarding ice in my DVC villa freezer

I do the ice bath ASAP after both the 10k and half. I also wear compression socks, and walk as much as possible, albeit slowly. After my first half in 2014 my family thought I was nuts when I opted to walk from BLT to MK instead of the monorail, but honestly, I think for me, staying moving is very important. I've even adopted it to training in general. I now walk a minimum of a mile at he end of every long run in training. And I've noticed less soreness in general. I do not ice after regular long runs, just races.
