Official 2015 Goofy Challenge Thread

Unfortunately, the bling thing makes it harder to gain entrance if one is asleep at the switch. I would expect Goofy to fill rather quickly this coming year.

I have a conundrum. I have a Goofy, Dopey and Minnie streak - even though the latter two are streaks of 1. I really am not wanting to run Dopey again but would like to keep the Minnie streak. If this coming Goofy does become the last I would like to the the 10k - Half combo going forward. That makes the weekend rather easy as I can run a half with little extra training. However, if you run 3 it makes little sense to not run the 5k as well. Decisions

I did the Goofy this year, running the half with my wife and friends. This was my wife's first half, and she loved it. This was the first runDisney race for us both.

My wife wants to run the 10k and Half next year. If she does so, I will probably run the Dopey, as I love the full marathon but will also want to run in my wife's races. As you said, might as well add the 5k at that point. I just wish that they would start the 5k and 10k a little later in the morning.

If the 10k is still happening next year then I don't see any reason not to have the dopey challenge as well. The length of the marathon weekend for next year (January 7-11) is the same as this year so that means there's time for four events. My guess is that they'll continue the dopey challenge at least through the 25th anniversary of the marathon in 2018.

I'm really curious to see what they come up with for the Goofy medal in 2015. I was surprised to see the re-design for this year's Goofy. We'll see!

I will be upset if they pull a 'Chip n Dale' with Dopey in 2015. I really want to do Dopey next year. I agree that if they continue to offer the 10K, there isn't much extra effort for Disney to offer the Dopey Challenge. I will certainly do the Goofy if they don't.

I hope Dopey comes back...if it does I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked the number of Dopey registration spots so that there are more open slots for those running the 5K and 10K that aren't Dopey.

Just a lot of 2014 Dopey runners saying they won't do 2015. Saying it took a lot of time and/or they were 1 and done. I think they'll have it.

My fiancee and I anticipate running at least the Goofy and possibly the Dopey depending on what we can save between now and April registration.

The Dopey discontinuation rumors likely are just a product of those people who are saying they are one-and-done. But there are also those people out there who are looking forward to being "Perfectly Dopey" and there are all of the people who missed out on the inaugural Dopey who will sign up for the second go-round. It seems runDisney is really liking the 10k distance, so as long as that continues it makes sense to continue to offer the challenge.
