you don't really have to make extra time to walk around; you will be doing quite a bit of walking just to get from the bus to the starting line. i didn't GPS it while i was there but from google earthing it, it's about 1.5-2 miles give or take from where the bus drops you off, across the epcot parking lot, and down the service roads that take you out to the corrals and starting line.
Not to put too fine of a point on it, but are there porta-potties at the start line? The reason for my pre-race walk is to get my internal plumbing up to speed that early in the AM so it still sounds like a pre-bus walk might be the best plan.

At the marathon this year I saw plenty of people running from the bathroom to get to their corral right as they were starting.
One more reason not to get there early. No lines for anything if you arrive at the tents at 445-5.Port-a-potties are a mess!!! You will not believe the wait! We were in corral "A", and literally got there when the gun went off. We waited 1/2 hour to use them.
You'll have a short walk from the drop off area across the parking lot to the tents. Plenty of porta-potties just inside the bag check tents. Then there's a long walk to the actual starting area. Lots of porta-potties there too, with more than enough bushes & trees along the way and at the corrals. Not to put too fine of a point on it, but are there porta-potties at the start line? If you think you can hold it, MK has very nice clean bathrooms with sinksThat's what I ended up doing last year. Totally worth it!
Of course, if you're running for time then better get in that porta potty line early!
Submitted a 1/2 for Proof of time from Sunday, 2:02, for the Full! My brother submitted a 1:37. Based on last years corrals I'm hoping maybe H for me and C for him, does that seem about right to anyone from last year!
So what's everyone's training schedule like for this race?
After running my first 10k last month, I'm moving up to the Half Marathon for this race. I marked out a 13.1 mile course around my neighborhood and ran that distance for the first time last Sunday: 3:02:30 with 900' of elevation change according to Runkeeper. I plan to keep doing that same distance each weekend with a sprinkling of shorter runs during the week.
This was my first experience needing significant recovery time. It took until Wednesday before my legs felt mostly normal again. I learned the hard way that a warm shower followed by a nap in a warm bed is NOT the best way to recover from a long run. Lesson learned.
Again, everybody is different but if I ran 13 miles every weekend I'd burn myself out after about six weeks...
Morning all. Does the course go through the uk at Epcot or does it just miss it out and go straight into France? Can't quite make it out on the course maps. I'm already thinking where to strategically place family members.
Cheers
I ran the full this year and submitted a 2:02 half as my proof of time. I was placed in corral G. I thought I was perfectly placed! I never felt congested, never felt slowed down by others and didn't feel I was slowing others down myself. It was a perfect flow.
