Question for those of you who have done the coast to coast challenge... Do you have to make that decision before you register for the first race? Like if I'm thinking of doing the DL half next year did I need to indicate that on the WDW marathon registration?

Nope. The first race you just enter. On the second race there is a box to check.

Just wanted to pop in, introduce myself and say that I'm going GOOFY in 2014!!! I ran the 2012 marathon (my first), got knocked up (also my first ), and now I'm going back to run again! We're making it a big family trip with the babies since my sister also had her first this year also. BIL and I are running, and DH and my sister will cheer us on with the little ones.

I'm only about 1/3 of the way through this thread, but I love seeing everyone get so excited about running Disney!

I know there is a thread for this for the Princess Half but don't see one for Marathon weekend.

I'm curious to know where everyone is staying for the weekend and why?



I'm having such a hard time deciding. Value/Mod to save money? Monorail resort for easy access for me and DH to see me run? Other deluxe to celebrate doing my first marathon?

We're staying at AKL, because we own there and could get something booked so as to know we won't be homeless for Marathon Week (because Marathon WeekEND really sells it short with 4 races plus...).

Nothing is open, lol. The manager of AKL puts out a spread of bagels, water and bananas by the front entrance where you board the buses at Jambo.

I did not know they did this and think it is really awesome. Also, South African wines on site to ease post-race aches and pains.

I'm kinda irked by this, especially since the photos runDisney posted are not particularly helpful... It's not like they don't have someone out there videotaping and photographing everything...
