Looks like the head coach of the US Snowboard team is happy with the conditions on the mountain. That's encouraging! He said they had great fresh powder and that the mountains could stand up with some of the best mountains in the world. I really hope so! These athletes have trained so hard for this!
I'm really interested to see the "slope-side" events this year. That and snowboard-cross.

Washington Post has compiled some tweets from journalists there. It's crazy how close the games are and the reports coming out. The village is ready though and looks nice.

Can someone help me with what is probably a stupid question... when are they airing the opening ceremonies? I'm looking at my guide on the tv and it says on Thursday the 6th at 8pm it is coverage of the games (skating and snowboarding) and not opening ceremonies. I'm confused. I'm on the west coast.

How horrifying. I wonder if NBC will mention any of this (haven't seen the Today Show gang speak of the ill-preparedness other than to mention some hotels still have no furniture), or if they'll keep quiet to appease Russian officials so as not to mess with any of their coverage of the games?
That will be the good question. I rarely watch the morning shows anymore.
I watch the Today Show every morning, 7 days a week, so I will be on them like white on rice! Matt Lauer has been there for a few days already and I expect the rest will be there in another day or two. I'm watching...always watching..
