Dang, I hit the first button and am now headed to Dopeyville.![]()
You're headed to being perfectly Dopey and perfectly Goofy.
I signed up for Dopey and I signed DW up for the 10k.

Yea, I was thinking that it was open to all, with no restrictions. Oh boy, do we foresee a sell-out?
Guess it makes no sense to wait for the Visa email now.

I am actually betting on a sell out of the 10k and Half in short order. The expected registration limits for the Dopey are 6k and the Goofy 10k. That would leave between 3-5k spots in the 10k and between 5-8k spots in the half. I would suggest to friends and family who are thinking of either of these two events to register earlier rather than later. At least keep an eye out for the countdown clocks.
Spoke to eD concerning the new time requirements and thanked them. They indicated that they plan to have more corrals starting with the 2014 event and hope to keep runners of similar speed starting closer together.
I applaud their efforts with working to smooth out the congestion.
Looks like Active caught the fact it was open to all. I can still get to the DVC registration link though. Am guessing it is open only to APs, DVC, and Disney Visa now.I am having trouble getting in thru Active. It says that registration is Closed. Is there a specific link to use to get in? Thanks.

I got in going through active's facebook site. Maybe try that?![]()

Wow smaller corrals would be a big change. When running rock and roll DC I was noticing how they had 30+ corrals but they were 1000 people each and only spread out by a minute. It seemed like it helped with congestion.
Really?!?! I called last week and this morning trying to get rates. I booked with a TA but want to be sure I'm getting a good deal. Worried there's a special RWC rate like they had last year.
@ram if you booked directly through Disney they will reduce your rate anytime a new deal is offered. Thanks for the info. I called Disney travel not Disney sports and was able to receive a quote.
I signed up for the dopey rwchallenge. Anyone know what "preferred corral" means? I think the extra money is worth it if that means Corral A for all of the events!
Unfortunately, yes, your corral will be an A or B (if done like last year). Sorry to be a little negative, but the reasoning for corralling is to place runners into an order approximating expected paces. Allowing a 15-16 minute pacer to purchase a spot into a 6-7 minute pace corral can create 'issues'.
dumbo_buddy said:i wonder what galloway's training will look like. probably won't be able to stick with the 3x/week workouts like i did for the marathon for the dopey. wonder how he will alter his goofy workouts.
i think the whole family will do the 5k. we'll be in the stroller division so that part of my dopey challenge will be a walk![]()
No stroller division this year. I emailed run Disney and they emailed me back the following.
Thanks for your email. Due to previous safety issues, we are no longer
offering a stroller division for any of our runDisney events, including
the 5K.

Thought I would let you or anyone else know. Last year there were real little ones walking, so depending on the age of the children they can probably walk it.
