Can't say mine did...but I'm hanging in there! I thought of you during my run today.
My dear friend...I think you can do this Dopey. And I went back and forth on whether to message you or post on here, but maybe someone else could also benefit from my thoughts/opinions.
1. You have a good base. You did great at NYCM, so keep that in mind.
2. You know, you weren't really in that boot very long. If it were me, and my foot was bugging me, I would strongly consider wearing the boot for "daily activities" between now and WDW (ok, maybe not for Christmas Mass, but you know what I mean), just as a protective measure.
3. Sounding like a broken record here, but if you have access to a pool where you can do water running, it really REALLY can help you maintain your fitness without putting stress on your foot. Or, if you have a gym with an elliptical trainer or can do spin classes.
4. Assuming you are not causing further injury during the race weekend, consider adjusting goals and throwing in some walking here and there.
These ideas are based on when I did Goofy (old Dopey) in 2010 and developed a stress reaction (don't know if it was a full fracture) in my foot diagnosed about 3-4 weeks out from race day. I did a ton of water running, and wore the boot except for the races.
Also...if you consider a metatarsal pad for a little extra cushion (if that is where you hurt), I have a tip: put it
under your insole, not on top. Then you can tape it in place, and it is there for the cushion, but the motion of your foot in the shoe will not make the tape pull up or make the pad curl up under your foot.
Love you!!
