Finished my local 10k today official time 1:11:02....would have liked a little better finish...but at least I finished :cool1:....Any idea what corral this would put me in and also how do I submit this time to Disney? Thanks again...

The website for my 10K is slow so I googled results and found the chip's website (if that makes sense). My "gun" time was 1:13:58 and the chip time was 1:13:38. Very happy :goodvibes I was pushing my pace since I want to use it as my proof of time but was still a little surprised what the time was when I saw the clock at the finish line.

Congrats to all of today's racers!

After a couple of weeks of "race" conditions (a 5K trial and a 10K race), today I was back to doing long runs-- new longest distance completed: 9 mi! That's about 2/3 of the Princess! It was nice to be able to run long and steady and not be pushing for time: finished at 1:41.

Anyone know how to submit a race time for better corral placement?

The Richmond Half is officially in the books - 2:45 (and that's with a head cold and bathroom stop!). Princess, here we come!

YAY!!! Great job! I just laid out my clothes for the Outer Banks Half tomorrow! Glad you had such good weather today too!

Going off of last years placement that would be B. But of course that depends on what everyone else is submitting.

If you go to the princess site on runDisney it will have an email address you can send it to. I got an email back from runDinsey and active.com confirming the update.

:cheer2: Congrats!!

I did my 11 mile training run today and it went pretty well. We finished in 2:10:05 so I should be real close to my 2:30 goal.

Great job.....and thanks for the info!

Following the Princess Half training, I did my 3 miles yesterday. It was colder that I would like but I went on. I run my long runs without a clock or cellphone because I dont want to be worry about the time. I just want to run. When I was about to finish I felt I went to slow and that it took me more than 55 minutes to do only three miles. To my surprise when I check the time it took me 43 minutes to finish and I was so happy!!! :cool1: Plus I weight myself yesterday and I had lost 28 pounds already. :rotfl:

I had my first running nightmare, I dremt I couldn't move my legs when I woke up!!
When I actually did wake up, I was fine.
Do any of you have weird dreams or anxiety about a race?

I have nightmares all the time. I had dreamed that I never finish the half, that the officials had taken me out of the race or that I get hurt in the middle of the race. Im sure this is all anxiety. You are not the only one! Just keep going.

Yesterday I ran a 5k with my 10 year old daughter (for a good cause: a little boy was kidnapped last year in our hometown and still has not been found, this run was for continuing his search efforts).

I had this talk with my daughter that we are running this together and it wasnt about time. We should stick together. Well of course, as soon as the race starts little miss smarty pants takes off like a flash. The race was on the cart path of this gorgeous golf course so I always had her in my sight.

She was really cookin' but I just stayed at my pace which I knew I could continue easy for the 5k. Well low and behold, just like the Tortoise and the Hare, she was totally gassed at 2.5 miles and I just cruise right up next to her and smile. It was hilarious!

We finished together holding hands, had a great time and ran for a great cause!
Hope your weekend was "fast and fun"!

Dig deep,
Michele

That is so cute! That is a great cause for a race. I hope they find the kid. I can just imagine your daughter's face when you passed her :cutie:

Great story - love it!!!!

Half marathon #8 on the books. Unofficial (Garmin) details - 13.19 miles, 2:44. WOO! PR!! My previous best was 2:49 so I am pretty sure it's a PR, anyhow. Especially after doing a half last Sunday too. Happy.

Does anyone have suggestions for training between Halfs? I'm planning on doing the Tinker Bell in January, and then the Princess in February. I'm sure i'll need two weeks to recover from the Tink, but after that how much should I run in between? Are there any plans for that kind of situation?

On the Run Disney site, there is a training plan for Princess. In that training plan it has Tink listed as one of the training runs. You could look at that for what to between the 2.

I can't program my treadmill, I just watch the clock. You get good at guessing time! I personally have been doing 3:2 (running:walking) on my 30 minute sessions, and that's super easy to keep track of: warmup until 5 minutes, run to 8, walk to 10, run to 13, walk to 15... etc.

Thank you! That actually makes sense. Daylight savings time has ruined my training and at least this gives me an idea as to how to work with the treadmill on these dark 5pm nights. lol

LOL! Great story! My daughter and I are running the Neverland 5K together and she keeps telling me, "Well, I'm taking off so you just do your thing and I'll see you after". We'll see about that! :lmao:

Great runs this weekend everyone!

Well I was totally lazy this weekend and didn't run at all. I was planning on going out today but just never mustered up the will. This week is really busy. Hopefully sometime on Tuesday I can squeeze in a short run.
