Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

me too! my flight tomorrow (friday) is at 6:45 am! i can't wait to be down there. i'm definitely bringing a bathing suit (though i guess that means i oughtta put a razor to my nether regions lol!)

***************
i will also be at ASMo. it's probably too late to organize a meet up. what time is everyone (all resorts) planning on getting on the bus. i'm thinking waking up at 2:45 and getting on the bus at 3:30. does that make sense?

User "ironz" (Betsy) and I plan on meeting up at the race bus area sunday morning around 3:30am at ASMo...you are welcome to join us if you'd like some company on the bus and walk to the corrals! We've exchanged phone numbers via PM...might try to say a quick hello on saturday afternoon if schedules match up just so we know who we're looking for on sunday morning :)

Leaving work today at 2:30pm to head south to my parents' house. Then we'll leave around 6am tomorrow for Disney! I'm so excited! The weather looks like it is going to be gorgeous!

Hope everyone has a safe trip down, and hope to meet some of you after the race. Have a good run/walk/both!!!!!princess:

Have a great flight those of you on your way today/tomorrow! The weather is fantastic this morning. I'm putting the finishing touches on my outfit today and will post it tonight.

Totally beyond excited!

Got my tank in the mail yesterday. Wore it, and sparkle skirt, to zumba.

Tonight, I make my last training run. Then, laundry and iron bling on to tank. Oh, and packing.

I printed my boarding pass this morning. Boarding zone B.:sad2: See what I get for waiting 10 minutes past the 24 hour mark.

DBF will be flying in about 7 hours later than me, so I have time to check in, head to the expo, and maybe spend some time in EPCOT stalking British Invasion. We have a KTTK tour Saturday morning, then staying off my feet the rest of the day. Sunday morning, I think I will get a cab from Contemporary to Poly to catch the bus. Probably easier than trying to go right to the race.

This workday better pass quick!

Have safe travels, I'm really excited, just like all the rest of you. Those who are nervous, you shouldn't be, just continue like its just another training run, but lots of people cheering you on and that will give you the motivation to finish, just dont take that motivation to go any faster, keep your pace and you should be fine! I hope you all make it across the finish line, as I hope my injured knee holds out the whole race. It has healed rather nicely, did a short around the block run to test my knee yesterday, no pain, just a little sore after and tightness, but that is expected from my knee that is recovering from a muscle injury. I plan on getting there around 4 so I have about 30-45 minutes to warm up before heading to the corral to loosen the knee up, make sure you do your stretches before the race, I see a lot of people skip them and that will cause you to cramp or possibly injure yourself. Just keep to the normal routine before, during and after the race and you will all do great.

At least you all get tomorrow off work, I have to go in and I'm going straight to the EXPO from work, its not far luckily, but Friday traffic will make it a little longer than it should take. I will be getting to the EXPO at 5:30-5:45, might ditch out of work a little early to get there at 5 to give myself time to look for a couple things I need and buy. Again, safe travels, enjoy the parks, hope its not too crowded and not like last weekend where waits were really long. If any of you are in corral B, feel free to stop by and say hi, I will be trying to keep loose and pass time.

Hello princesses! It's almost here! Aaah!

Is anyone else super nervous about the race? I have been trying to adjust my sleeping habits (going to bed before 9 and TRYING to get up before 5) the last few days so it won't feel too bad getting up at the crack of dawn on Sunday, but instead I've just been up all night worrying about the race! I don't know what's gotten into me. I really just want to be able to run the whole thing. I know no one there will care if I have to walk a bit, but I really want to reach this personal goal! Ugh.

On another note, I am very, very excited about the Expo. I'm hoping to get something good to commemorate the race.

At least you all get tomorrow off work,

NOT ME! :sad2: I have to work a full day tomorrow and then RUSH to the airport to make the flight...it might be close, but I think we'll make it. I WISH I could leave today or tomorrow morning though!

I normally fly out first thing in the morning. This trip, we are flying out in the evening. I feel so discombobulated, like I am missing something or forgetting something. I've gone over the lists in my head a hundred times. I'm not anxious about the race, but the weather. Both here and in Orlando. But, there isn't much I can do to change it. Que sera, sera.

See you all very soon!!!!!

3 hours of work, dinner with the family, sleep and then time to wake up for Disney World!!! :cutie:

Can't wait!!

Count me as a nervous one too. I keep getting the "race morning jitters" for a few days now. No nightmares, but I've not been able to adjust my sleep pattern. Sadly, I've been staying up at least an hour later than usual. I'll try tonight since Super Shuttle is picking me up before 7am tomorrow.

I'm going to embrace the whole experience and take the entire 3-1/2 hours I think. Stopping for lots of pictures and drinking in the whole WDW race experience. Sunday is not a day for me to target a PR> ;)

Just finished packing my smart car full to brim with many suitcases and bags. I'm off to Phoenix tonight, Orlando tomorrow for 4 nights, then back to Phoenix for a night, then driving to Anaheim for a Dis Girls meet-up for 3 nights, then a family visit in LA on Saturday, then driving back to Phoenix, then finally back to Northern Arizona on Sunday 3/6/11. My DH won't remember what I look like after such a long time apart. It's going to be sooooo much fun though! :yay:

Good luck princesses, and safe travel!

Yippee! Leaving tomorrow morning to drive down.

For those worried about the heat, remember that the sun won't even be up when we get started! It might still be warm per the thermostat, but it doesn't FEEL terribly warm until that sun gets up there. Definitely stop at the water stations, especially if you are not used to the heat. A few extra minutes peeing is worth being able to finish the race on your own two feet!

Hope to be able to meet some of y'all down there! Good luck, princesses!:thumbsup2

Flew out of Sacramento this morning but am now stuck in Phoenix due to an unexpected plane change and that flight being delayed a couple of times. OY!

Got in one last run this morning. Then went for a massage and a pedicure. Gotta keep the muscles and toes in good working order. It felt great to be out there again. I hadn't run in a week and it's so easy to forget that I like to run.

I'm going to hit the expo tomorrow and then head back down on Saturday to check into the hotel. Spending the night twice would mean kenneling the dog and more money on hotel and food.

I'm getting ready to go out to dinner with the family as a "goodbye" for the weekend. As usual, my intentions of paking early fell by the wayside lol. Just a few more things though. Tomorrow is a very early start for a 6am flight.

I bought a nice lightweight tiara last night. Very last minute change. It has combs at the ends so they stay down but the middle doesn't and I know it'll bounce. I'll be wearing a sweatband and was wonding if anyone has any ideas on a good way to keep the middle down. I was considering attaching the middle of the tiara to the middle of the headband (but not the ends) so I can put the headband on and lower the tiara into place behind it. Is this crazy? I will be making/trying it in a short job tonight so if it doesn't work I will have time to change it before we leave.

I used a hot glue gun to put my tiara on a visor last year, you should be able to do the same thing with a headband. Or you could sew it on; just wrap the thread over the tiara's band and through the band a few times.

NOT ME! :sad2: I have to work a full day tomorrow and then RUSH to the airport to make the flight...it might be close, but I think we'll make it. I WISH I could leave today or tomorrow morning though!

I have to work tomorrow also. My plane doesn't leave until 8:45 though, and I live 15 min. from the airport, so hopefully I won't have to rush!

I do have to make cookies tonight. I finally found someone to cover my swim lessons this weekend, after promising cookies to however would do it!

I have one last run tonight, baking, packing, a few touch-ups on the costume and then I'll be good to go.

I'm so excited I might burst lol

I'm also one who has to work tomorrow but only half a day. My plane leaves at 3:50, and it is suppose to be snowing tomorrow afternoon in Pittsburgh! I'm praying that the weather forecast changes. I have to finish up my shirt tonight but otherwise I think I'm packed and ready to go.

I'm looking forward to getting as many pictures as I can during the race, so this will not be a PR but should be lots of fun. I can't wait!

No work for me tomorrow! Have an appointment with the acupuncturist to get a treatment on my knee and back before we drive up. Haven't even begun to pack and still need to get home, cook dinner, pick up DS (16) from his first track meet! Soo much to do!!

Looking forward to a nice long girls weekend!

Pretty soon we will be in "The Happiest Place on Earth" !! :woohoo:

Safe travels everyone!!:goodvibes

saylan, if you can cut off the comb part the sewing I did of my tiara to my hat took no time at all. Like PP said, just loop it around top to bottom to hold it down.

I have those pre-race pretrip jitters. Sheesh. I need to pack and haven't been able to sleep for some reason the past 2 nights. I did get up early today to go to PT and it went well.

I drop the kiddo off tomorrow at preschool, then its home and my ride to the airport! I don't get in til later in the day, but so looking forward to it. Washing my top right now so I will pack when its done. I would prefer a bit cooler to be honest, but not going to complain. Just drinking my gatorade daily and plenty of H20.

I cannot believe the time has come, but here we go!

Tramps like us princesses, baby we were born to run..... umm or run/walk, or walk/run, walk, or jog..well you know! :-)

Have a great race Y'all! I think I will be in corral B and if you see my red hat as you pass me, say Hi! :-)

I feel like i'm soooo far behind:) I haven't even started packing yet.:scared1: But I don't fly out until Saturday morning so that gives me tomorrow I guess. My 10yo is begging me to pack her in my suitcase:love:. I can't wait until she's old enough to run this with me. She's my running partner but can only hang for 5 miles before pooping out. We're gonna work on getting her ready by the time she's old enough to run the race. Anyhooo--- good luck to all of you! I'm hoping i meet many of you. I've never taveled alone so it'd be nice to meet some of you!:goodvibes
