did anyone else notice how condescending the pole vaulter Jenn Stuczynski's coach rag on her?? Ouch!! Then there is the fact that he's barking at her over what sounds like a micro phone..

I was in shock watching him talk down to her...she just won the silver medal and in her first Olympics....I mean come on.... this is a time to celebrate. Im about to just quit this ...its just been that frustrating with the one exception...M Phelps.

And what's with the super shiny gymnast uniforms. There was a light blue one tonight that looked like she was coated in plastic.

I am continually impressed with how classy the USA athletes are. I haven't seen all of the games, but I've seen a lot and no matter what the situation, they present themselves well and with humility.

Even if they were robbed by a stupid scoring system.

I turned it off after the uneven bars debacle. But I ran track in h.s. and coached for a couple years, so I'm interested in the track stufff.

Russia woman got the Gold an broke both the OR and WR she was really awesome.

USA college student (her first Olympics) got silver and the coach gave her a bad time about it...they may have a video clip of it somewhere online...I was shocked how bad he was talking down to her....it was mainly overly harsh critisim over every minute detail she did wrong on her failing attemps.

Yeah, that was just ridiculous. And I'm still mad about the vault too, especially after they were talking to Bela and one of the commentators about all the mistakes that Chinese girl made, yet she still managed to come away with the bronze. Ugh.

Ok...back on a positive note...lets talk some woman's indoor volleyball...USA just Upset an beat Italy. 3 sets to 2 sets in a roller coaster of an awesome game...USA is in the finals.

Regarding the gymnastics scoring, what they were saying last night about the inexperience (and perhaps the incompetence) of the gymnastics judges makes sense. You can't have a judge from the country of the competitor. So that cuts out the very experienced judges from Russia, Romania, the US and China....leaves you with judges from gymnastics "powerhouses" like South Africa and Austrailia. So you're judging vault and you're unsure of yourself and afraid of making a mistake....so who do you score higher? The world champion (who happened to land terribly and make three other mistakes acording to Tim Dagget) or Alicia (who everyone knows already messed up earlier in the week.) You go with the reputation, and end up getting it wrong.

As for the tie, it's an Olympic Gymnastics rule, not a FIG rule. I think they should look to start value to break any tie. If the start value is the same, give them both the medal.

Does anyone know if they allow ties in diving?

Another great victory for Team USA womans water polo over the Aussies. USA advances to the finals
