Neville walked up to the common room. Many of the students were gathered in a circle finishing up their herbology homework. Neville didn't bother them and went up to the dormitory and saw George on his laptop. "What's that you are on?" said Neville suprised. Neville had of course never seen anything that muggles owned.

"huh?" said George as he looked up. "Don't you have these in the wizard world?"

 

[::Snow_White::]

"No...I've never seen anything like it." Neville said sitting down all of his things. "Does it move?" Neville asked.

 

[marypops!]

"it's my laptop" he said "it's something used for work and games and so on" George sat there with Neville staring with amazment over his shoulder as he played some game he bought before coming to the school.

 

[::Snow_White::]

"Wow. My grandmother would never allow this." Neville said. "It's wonderful!" Neville said excitedly.

 

[marypops!]

"why wouldn't she allow it?" George asked. "if you were allowed one, they're not cheap. £300.00, i mean about 60 galleons."

 

[::Snow_White::]

"She doesn't like to use muggle things." Neville said quietly. "But I'd love one." Neville said louder. He stood up and walked over to Trevors cage picking him up.

"It'll be cool if you got one. I thought something was up when i found no internet access here and no computers in the library"

 

[::Snow_White::]

"I think the wizarding world should consider them. Although we have wizards chess and quidditch for games." Neville said jumping down on his bed.

"Is that like normal chess then? And i've been hearing alot about Quidditch lately, heard there are tryouts for the team today, but i have no idea what it is." said George. He turned off his laptop to speak to Neville.

 

[::Snow_White::]

"Wizards chess is much more...violent I suppose. Ask Ron about it he'll show you how to play. The pawns move." Neville said. "As for Quidditch. There are 7 players on each team. The chasers, keeper, beaters, and the seeker. The chasers try to get a ball called the Quaffle through one of the other teams 3 hoops. And the keeper from each team has to block the shots. While all that is going on there are 2 balls called the bludgers that attack the other players trying to knock them off their brooms. The beaters have a wooden bat and try to hit the bludgers towards the other team. And the seeker tries to catch a small ball called the snitch. It's points for the seekers team. Whenever it is caught the came is over." Neville said smiling. "I just like to watch. But it would be quite exciting to play" Neville said.

"ok... Quidditch sounds like a really confusing game. I might watch it and if i enjoy it, then i'll sign up for the team next year."

 

[::Snow_White::]

"Not once you watch it. It's really easy to understand." Neville said. "Well...I think I might head down to the library for awhile until our next class. Bye George." Neville said putting Trevor back in his cage. He picked up his books and walked out of the dormitory.

Luna sat straight up. "Oh dear! What time is it?" She thought to herself scrambling to get dressed. She rushed over to look at the clock and saw that it was already 9! "OMG, I'm going to be late for DADA!". She sprinted down stairs as fast as her legs would carry her and found the common room full of students playing games and joking around. Luna found George working on a strange device and exclaimed "What about class!?!?!"

George then calmly explained it had been cancelled and Luna sank down in a sigh of relief.

A little later after playing a few games on George's "Lab-Tob" as he had called it, she looked over and found a Quidditch poster staring back at her.

"Oh that right!! Quidditch tryouts are tonight, I think I'm going out for Seeker, or Keeper. Both would be so enjoyable!" Luna said in a cheery voice.

i was in the boys dormitories. Though if i remember from the 6th book (?) Hermione says that boys aren't allowed in the girls dormitories but girls are allowed in the boys ones... back to the story.

"Yeah, Neville was just telling me about how to play the game. I'm going to join next year when i actually know what's going on." George was playing a game of Pinball when the bell went signalling lunch.

Neville heard the bell ring as he was in the library and picked up his things. He left the library and started to head down to the great hall.

George went down to the Great Hall with Luna. Luna kept asking him about other muggle contraptions while George asked Luna about Wizard Chess and Quidditch. As they got there, they found most of their friends already eating as the moving staircases caused them to go the long way round.

"Oh realllly, so muggles actually made a machine, that toasts bread...How odd." Luna said strangely.

She sat down and her stomach was rumbling so she helped herself do a big serving of salad, and took a turkey sandwich from the pile.

"I fink muggles are fazzinating" she said with a mouthful then swallowed.

The day went by very boring, as usual. Neville got applauds as the professor read his essay in Herbology, but other than that nothing special happened.

At dinner that night, Luna was getting very very nervous for the Quidditch tryouts and couldn't even eat the special pumpkin pie.

skipping ahead aren't we

"well muggle's can't do magic, well some can perform it but not very good. That's why we need all these things" said George as he leaned over to grab a ham sandwich.

Yeah, someone mentioned earlier we should start skipping ahead more. So I did. =]

"Oh, how fascinating" Luna muttered and she grabbed an apple. The image of Nevilles mouth all swelled popped into her head and she dropped it.

She decided to scoop some pasta onto her plate instead.

Later into dinner she saw...Angelina [Quidditch Captain] standing at the front of the hall announcing that tryouts would be starting now and that anyone who wanted to try, should be in the Quidditch feild in the next 10 minutes.
