Judi, have you seen this site? Scroll down until you find HIOceanfront. It has good information on this hotel (as well as others in and around Cocoa). It looks like this hotel will reopen just in time for your cruise. Of course that info could be old, before Jeanne came through.

I wonder what happens to those that have used Priceline, if the hotel is closed.

We had some bad weather go through last night. Nothing in our immediate area but only 10 miles away.

Ginger: How about you? Heard on the news you had a tornado not too far from your area. How is the clean up going from Sat? Hope all is well.

How about Dena? Do you have power yet? How is your sister and the kids?

Karen: Only a few more days and she'll be back, then not too long and you're all off again!!!

Going out shopping this weekend for a suit for DS 15. Oh, help!! I though girls were hard, nothing compared to this one!!

Better go before I get stuck on this computer. Must go to the gym, only a few more weeks to get buff

Judi, I have bad news for you. Not sure what you can do though with it being through Priceline though. Anyway, one of the ladies on my cruise meet thread said she just got an email saying that her reservation has been cancelled. She was booked to be there November 6th, the night before our cruise. So, I can't imagine it will be open for you for your date.

Well, I hadn't yet cancelled my reservations at the Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Holiday Inn, but just got an e-mail. The county has closed the hotel, (since September 2), and all reservations are cancelled.

The Holiday Inn Hotel - Cocoa Beach is currently closed due to damage from Hurricane Frances. It is currently due to reopen on 10 October 2004. Check back for updates

So hopefully it all works out. I am going to call priceline and see what I need to do if it looks like they won't be open by then. We could always get a room in Orlando and then drive down on saturday morning I guess.

Ginger, i just noticed on another thread that Carolyn (rocadonismom) is now cruising on the 13th November cruise. So I think that's one stateroom less for the list.

It's a real shame because Emma got on really well with her last year.

Judi - I received your photo of TJ. It is now posted on the site. The file you sent was 10 and a half times the requested file size - at about 1.5 megabytes! For anyone else sending a photo, <I>please</I> limit the file size to not exceed 100 kb. That is kilobytes, not megabytes - KB not MB. So sorry for this limitation, but I am on a dial-up connection and large files sometimes cause my e-mail to lock-up.

But thanks for the picture, Judi. I wish it had been one of you though, since you are the posting DISer.

Good luck with this situation. I hope Priceline can help you out. I don't have any experience with them but have heard that they can be difficult when there is a problem. Hopefully, that won't be true in your case

We will be driving from Orlando on Saturday morning - is there anything out of the ordinary that I should anticipate?

Sorry Shari about the picture. I am new to sending photos through email. I will be getting a family one taken this weekend so you can post us and remove tj if you want to. I just don't have any photos of me on my computer. Lots of the boys and my other babies(cats and dogs) I did send you another smaller picture of tj but you can just delete that one.

I did call Priceline, somewhat helpful. I have to wait till the last week in oct. and call them if the Holiday Inn is still closed. They said to wait till the day before our reservations, but I told them I wasn't going to wait and then not have a room. The lady wasn't sure what they would do since I wasn't changing my mind, Hurrican Jeane is to blame. I'll keep you guys informed. I told them that I would be happy to take another hotel even in orlando for the same price.

Only one more day to sign up for T and T. Ginger if I get a chance in the next day or two I might give you a call, so answer if you see it's from West Virginia!

Judi, as I stated in my last post, I already resized and posted the picture. I had to retrieve it via webmail in order to get my normal mail app out of a locked-up state. But thanks for the effort anyway.

I understand that not everyone is aware of their file sizes. I just hope everyone will be patient with the handicap I have in being on a dial-up connection.

But everyone, please <I>do</I> send a photo of yourself or your family. If you do not know how to send it but it is out on the Web somewhere, send me the link to it and I may be able to retrieve it to post. Thanks.

Ashley and I are thinking about an airboat ride through the everglades and a little shopping at Ron Jon's on Friday morning.

Jennifer, have your cruise docs completed and your photo I.D. available when you arrive at the port. You'll have to show them to get into the loading and unloading area and the parking lots.

I don't have to work today or tomorrow so I've left notice for my mailman to call me if my Docs arrive. I told him that I would pick them up.

Michelle, let's just say that Bill has got alot of firewood to split. Thank goodness it's not at our house thou.

On one of my cruises my documents had my name spelled incorrectly, I called DCL immediately and they said to throw those documents away and that they would promptly send corrected ones. They did. No problem, but they did stress, as I already knew, that all names MUST be spelled correctly.

Ginger - I hope Dena is okay. It could be that she is still without electricity but is otherwise fine (I hope). Many areas down there are still powerless.

Ginger, have you researched this yet. My mother and her friend want to do an Airboat ride the day prior to our cruise. I would be interested in hearing what you have found out and who you decide to go with. TIA!

Just wanted to fill you all in about Priceline. I called Holiday Inn Oceanfront. they said they will be closed till Nov1, then had to call a central Holiday Inn resevation center. They said the hotel will be closed till Mid november. Web site says oct. 10. Talk about no comunication. So they said to call priceline, that they were canceling all reservations.

So I then called priceline, they said that there is a seperate dept called Travel Services that will contact me in 3 business days. I went ahead and made a reservation for Quality Suits Maingate in Orlando and will just drive down Saturday. I paid priceline 95.00 for 2 rooms, and just booked a 2bdroom suit for 109.00. Need to see if I can get it at AAA rate. Hopefully I will get my money refunded. Guess we will just spend the afternoon at Downtown Disney, no big deal. Just do my shopping there and leave around 8:30 am. We are early risers anyhow.

If priceline can get me two rooms for the same price in cocoa beach then we will just cancel the other room. But at least we got a back up just in case.

If anyone got their rooms through priceline, don't wait like they want you too. Get it done now!!! Some of the hotels got hit hard and they are aware of it. I was told by Holiday Inn that priceline is waving the fee for cancellations. Hope so. I'll let everyone know.

By the way, our stateroom number is 5122 - I don't think that I provided that when I signed up for t-or-t.
