Offical American Idol Discussion Thread

Last night was the first time I didn't even pick up my PHONE. None of them deserved a call! :crazy2:

Me either!!

I kept thinking to myself, these people made it through and yet Scootergirl got cut

I was expecting much more last night. I think they should of picked more songs that were up beat and that would show their talents. I have never heard Bri and Camielle sing before so didn't know what to expect, but as for the Roman brothers-what happened?

I just hope William Hung knows how many fans he has! :p

You read my mind Sara. I was just going to post "Bring back William Hung!". He's all over the place now. Even Good Morning America mentioned him during their Around the Watercooler segment. They showed clips from ET and mentioned he was even parodied on SNL. The kid may not be able to sing, but he's a marketing genius.

They showed him singing at his college campus-he must really like this attention. I do say that he has a good attitude.

"I was watching Ryan Seacrest's other show yesterday, and Clay actually commented about this group, saying that he'd be surprised to see many of them make it past this stage. (of course two will go on to the next level, but past that...) But how did he know how bad they were going to be YESTERDAY? Things that make you go hmmmmm... "

From what we hear the preliminary stuff is filmed on sunday nights, so Clay had a preview of things to come.

Paula was on Entertainment Tonight and mentioned that they go live on Wednesday nights and that the Tuesday portions are taped.

I agree with all of you--last night was HORRIBLE! I was so disappointed! For some reason (and I seem to be in the minority here) I really like Matt. He seems like a nice guy to me, and I think he has a nice voice--though that didn't show in last night's performance. The Roman brothers were 100% terrible (but I have never liked them or thought they were all that talented). Lisa was the only one that did very well vocally, but even she wasn't amazing. I am interested in seeing how the voting turns out tonight.

That show was painful to watch. It should be interesting to see who gets voted on tonight.

Hey, I'm getting good at predicting how America will vote.:p I'm two for two! Liked Camile but not Matt's attitude.

Next week's group looks good. Can't wait for some talent!

Well, I'll just say that I was happy for ONE of the chosen contestants tonight.

Since it's live, I guess I can't spoil it for anyone, so I'm glad Matt made it, but I still can't understand what anyone sees in Camille...

I was actually happy with both decisions tonight....considering the talent of those left. Even though I've liked Matt since I saw his initial tryout, this week's group of 8 didn't compare at all with last week's. :(

I notice that the pink-haired girl is up next week and I think she's VERY good!::yes::

I was OK with both choices tonight. Hopefully, they'll both relax and do better.

I'm not happy at all with the results!! I'm happy with Camille, but not Matt. I was really rooting for Lisa.

Me, Too! I thought Lisa was WAY better than Matt. I thought the last girl to sing (Marissa?) was betterthan Matt. I wonder if a bunch of his college buddies called over & over to get him in the top two?

Must have been his ROSE BOWL buddies.;)
I think he's a good singer (note I said good, not great), but I just can't stand his attitude. The look he gets on his face when he thinks he's winning reminds me of a 3 year old. No humility in THAT boy! It also irked me when he said he'd like to make Simon's head bleed. What is with these people that they think they can be so disrespectful???

Does Matt annoy the heck out of anyone else as he does to me? He was horrible the other night and I can't believe that he got through.
