Offered special rate... first time for me

DH and I called CRO this morning to check annual passholder rates for our anniversary next month. We were thinking of staying at CBR but the CM I had on the phone said her computer had generated a "special rate" if we'd consider doing a deluxe resort instead. I have called CRO probably hundreds of times in my life and I've never had them offer anything better than the ap rate. I asked her if it came with a code, but she said it wasn't a code rate... just a special offer.

Has anyone else been lucky to get this better deal???

never happened to me before. But, I'm going to call and fake it like I'm wanting to book a moderate and see what happens. You're the second person lately who has received such a special offer in this exact situation so maybe it's a new "random" thing and I'll get lucky.

I just tried and all they offered me was AAA-no special.

I recently checked rack rates at Caribbean Beach for late August (23-25) and was offered the $179 at Yacht/Beach Club.

I also checked rack rates at CBR for early August (9-11) and was told the Y/BC upsell started on August 10.

My advice is to check rack rates and then ask if there are any specials. The Y/BC just popped up during the CBR rack rate check without me asking about specials.

It was my first live, unsolicited special offer too (not counting a postcard I couldn't use but would have loved to).

Just called and wdtc does not offer it, BUT cro does if you specifically ask for "is there an upsell rate going?" and she said sure, YC at 179 + 194 all plus tax. We decided to stay with Poly and Cr but it is very tempting!

Was hoping could use this rate on our december trip but not available to hold over till then.

Just called to get upsell for our trip from 9/21 to 10/1 and they said it wasn't available for those dates. Questioned her on dates available and she said they don't know it just pops up when they try to book.

I booked yc a couple years ago by calling and asking for a moderate. It took me three or four tries, but I got what I wanted. Same situation as now -- I had read on these boards that an upsell was being offered.

Thanks for posting this! I emailed my Dreams Unlimited agent Cathy Miller and asked if she could look into this upsell rate and in less than a few hours or the time to make dinner she got back to me that she had gotten it! I'm thrilled, I don't think I'll do better than this rate. She said there were some lmitations, that it was only for today and for the end of August dates. Thanks Cathy!!
