Hi I'm new to this but was wondering where a good offer per point would be for VWL? I have seen them go for 50-74... Where would you start. Thanks in advance!
It all depends on the size of the contract and whether or not it is loaded or stripped of points. Smaller contracts will sell for a higher price and large contracts will generally sell for a lower price. Stripped contracts (no current points) will generally sell for a lower price than a loaded contract.
I also think it depends...when we wanted to buy BWV last year, we decided how much we wanted to spend and then been looking. We were willing to wait and it took 4 offers before we found an owner who agreed that what we were offering was fair.
So, think about what you want, what you think is fair and if you could find a contract that meets all your need, what you'd like to pay and go from there.
Without any 2012 points, I would certainly consider an offer that is more aggressive unless you really think its the perfect contract and don't want to lose it. Then I might go a bit higher.
If it's a totally stripped contract and depending on the UY, you may want to wait and see if you can find a more loaded contract. Otherwise you will be spending a lot of money on something you will have to wait a long time to use.
Again thank you for your input. I submitted a lower offer so we shall see. I'm hoping it will not be a popular contract as there are no 2012 points and the use year is October. We shall see!!! Thanks again
Okay, it's been over 24 hours and I haven't heard anything from TSS at all, except for the fact that they received my offer...... Is this typical?? Thanks
I put in a low offer with TSS. They didn't get back to me until the next day. Oddly, they said that kept trying to reach the sellers without success. Yet during that timeframe they said a full price contract was offered, so they agreed to that. I had the feeling someone was sitting on the offer waiting for others to come in.
I've never had TTS not respond. I have given a call once or twice to check status and once my agent had the day off and another time they still hadn't reached the seller. I'd just give a call and check.
Well I ended up emailing them to question if they heard from the seller. Magically I got an email back within 5 minutes stating the agent JUST talked to the seller and they countered one point lower. Well that was a bust, ha ha!!! I respectfully declined their counter offer. Oh well back to hunting down more deals. Thanks everyone for your assistance
Jst my opinion, but I would try Fidelity. They may not be open on the weekends, but they are a LOT more responsive with all offers, and don't judge on lower offers.
