Has anyone gotten their nails done off property? $50+ for a manicure is pretty steep! Any reccomendations for where to go? Also, to get hair done? Lisa is coming to do my hair and makeup but $145/person is high for everyone.

Lastly, has anyone heard of a "permanent french"? My cousin had it, she said they use the powder or gel stuff, on your natural nails. The color of the white, looks more natural, and since it's not painted on top, it doesn't chip within a week. She said she goes every 2 weeks to get them filled in. I've never heard of this before and I'm wondering if this is a good idea for the wedding.

Thanks!

I've never heard of a permanent french manicure, but I do recall their being a nail shop near my apartments when I was on the college program. It was in the same plaza as Publix on International Drive, and right behind 535/I-4, Dixie Stampede, and the outlet mall near the Chatham Square CP apartments. Maybe another CPer could help me out with the name? I seem to be having memory loss :rotfl: I do remember it being maybe $10-15 for a manicure?
I'm sure there are a TON of places you can go that are nearby as well. I wish I could be of more help, but if I remember the name I will let you know!

HI Heather!!! When I go to Kissimmee I usually get my nails and hair done in CHampions GAte. It's about 5 miles outside the main gate of DIsney and pretty easy to get to. I can find out the name of the nail salon there but the Hair Cuttery is where I've gone to get my hair done on several occassions and absolutely LOVE their work!!! And their prices are extremely reasonable. :thumbsup2 If you need more info, just ask. My future in-laws live in Indian Ridge just outside the main gate of Disney and so when we go down there every year, I make sure to get my hair cut, colored, highlighted and my nails done. All of that costs me under $100.

I had my manicure done at Coronodo Springs Resort and I think I paid $25 or $30.00 and they did a GREAT job. I had a soft pink french manicure instead of the white and it was a little lighter and it lasted 3 weeks. My MIL and Step-mother both had their hair done there also and they loved it. The girl who did my manicure was Joann.
Highly recommend them.

i am going to use the cut and color room which is right near dtd. they are wounderful. i use them normally

Does anyone know of any other place on WDW property where you can get your nails done?

I want to get manicures/perdicures for my three bridesmaids and my Mom. Does anyone know any place at/or near Disney that isn't on the pricey side and can do most of them at the same time?

Thanks happylalagirl :) A little more info about the Hair Cuttery would help, there are *lots* in Orlando/Kissimee/Winter Garden area.

..and you've reminded me that I need to go get my hair colored/highlighted, adding that to the ToDo list!

For our wedding, I used two off property places for nails and hair. For nails, I couldn't justify the cost of the mani/pedi at the Grand. They also don't do acrylics which my Mom needed.

We went to Magic Nails in Celebration. (321) 939-2020 and I paid I think $35 - 40 for both mani and pedi and my mom also had her nails filled. It was super cheap and I absolutely loved my french mani/pedi. I'm not sure if they do what you're looking for but it never hurts to ask. The salon is also very clean and new.

For Hair/Makeup I personally do not like Lisa's work and I really think the prices are way too high. We went to Salon Salon in Lake Buena Vista. www.salonsalonhair.com and I absolutely loved what they did with everyone, especially my makeup! I had Lisa for hair and Michelle for makeup. I also recommend LuLu and Natalia. Hair updo was $45 - 70 and makeup then was $22. I think it may be $25 now.

I don't regret my decisions, I loved the way we all looked :) I don't have my pro pics yet but here's one of at least my hair and a little makeup. Another Disneymooner friend of mine who's wedding I was in recently used them as well and was also pleased.

Superdiz, I love salonsalon too, that's where I always got my hair done when I was living in Lake Buena Vista :thumbsup2

We got our nails done at the Wyndham, but the Wyndham has now changed ownership. I think it is now the Lake Buena Vista resort or something like that. If they are still doing it was before, it was a really nice spa environment.

HI! I can't help with a "local" hair/nail place but I can add a little on the permanent french manicure. I always get "pink and whites" it is pink and white acrylic and is done to look like a french manicure, and since it is acrylic- it never chips. I'm not sure if that's exactly what your cousin had or not but they do use powder, and once they are done a gel goes over top to make them shiny.
