Hi folks,

Posting recently, I am struck by how many other Americans are on this board currently living in Europe. If you don't mind me asking - how many? Where are you from? Where are you? How long have you been here? What brought you over?

I'll start. I was born in California (and raised at DL) and moved to the UK in 1986 because my mom fell in love. It took us 9 years to move over here after they met, but they don't give many green cards to musicians (my step dad is a drummer). We have lived here ever since (my brothers were born here).

I was so sad to not have Disneyland near by, but by 1992, I could sort out that 6 year Disney void.

What about you?

My wifes american. she moved over here for me :) well truthfully we couldnt decide whether I would move there or her here so we flipped a coin. she loves it here :) shes not as much as a disney nut as me but still loves it. and gets most upset when I try and remove her from the vicinity of tower of terror :lmao:

Oh and shes from Minnesota

Hi! We are also from the states Me (North Carolina), DH (Michigan) our DD was born in NC, but DS was born here in Bamberg, Germany. We have been here for two years, and will probably be here for at least 3 - 4 more. I'm a stay at home - home schooling Mum. My DHs job brought us here, and we've extended what was supposed to be only 3 years ... we love living in Europe!

DHs job took us to Italy for 3 years in the mid 90's ... that is where I got my first taste of DLRP and was excited to be a little closer to the magic here in Germany!

Your profile (if that's what it's called, the bit on the left) attracted me instantly, because my father was born here (not Bedfordshire, somewhere around London I think, but close enough) and he now lives in California!!! He is now retired, but has a place in Sunnyvale, and a few years ago bought another property in Oceanside which is probably closer to where you came from.

We visited him in 1998, and again for Christmas in 2000, and on both occasions spent a few days at DL.

Here is a photo taken of our children (then aged 10 and 6), taken at Disneyland California, on our first ever visit in 1998.

Sorry about the poor quality, I found it on my PC, I think it was scanned in as a print at some point.
