Has anyone ever used spirit airlines? Need to take a short flight and all the other airlines shot up on me!

They have a charge for everything including carry on luggage. Those costs add up quickly so look at the add ons for your flight.

just like pp said they charge for everything; picking your seats, snacks and drinks, and I'm pretty sure they are also charging for carry on luggage as well. Also, I'm only 5'2 and even I noticed that there seats are cramped.

Saw that. Still about $90 cheaper! Just don't know safety/on time record.

Yes, others have used Spirit, and there is a discussion regarding them two posts above this one .

How important is price based on the amount of fees you may incur for other things (seating, luggage, snacks, etc) and your time should a flight get canceled? You may want to look at the other Spirit threads on the more recent two or three pages of the Transportation board, and you'll see these topics widely discussed.

Spirit is a safe airline, just like all of the others int he US. However, their on-time record seems to be something to be desired.
