I'm a NYer who would LOVE to go to England. I'm just in the preliminary thoughts of making this happen and I'm looking for tips and pointers and budget advice. Does anyone know of a "DIS-like" UK Travel forum?

I'm so spoiled with the DIS that I can't imagine traveling anywhere new without getting tips, advice, and help with that single digit dance!! :rotfl:

Thanks!

Hi Stacy :wave2:
Why move away from the DIS?
Just ask away on the UK board and I'm sure plenty will help :sunny:

Absolutely ask away , I'll be more than happy to help as a UKer who used to live in NY i'm sure we're kindred spirits :-) Budget will massively depend on where in the UK you want to visit and the time of year, Feel free to PM with any questions, also if you are looking for accomodation try tripadvisor.com for loads of reviews and information on both hotels, B&B's, restaurants, places to go etc

Welcome to the UK boards :)

Just moving this across to UK Community for you!

Also try www.laterooms.com, when you've decided where you might like to stay, as there are often late discounts (normally as far away as 3 months out)

If you fancy extending your trip to include Wales, please let me know if I can be of any help.

Good Luck with your plans.

Absolutely!!! If you want to visit the 'toe' down in the south west I'll be more than happy to help, also am British Rail agent if you want any help/advice on train travel. (oh, and national express coaches too)

WOW! Who needs a travel agent when I have the DIS! My parents just went to England - my mom has second counsins (or something like that) in Clitherow (sp?). I've always wanted to go, but after seeing their pictures from their October trip, I'm resolved to go. Probably not until 2007 since my friends are working on putting together a Dec. 2006 WDW trip. I'm so unaware about what I want to see in England, so I think I'm just going to get a good map to get the lay of the land and go from there. I have a feeling that I'll only be able to do one or two major towns/cities, but I'm not norrowing the scope down just yet. Maybe I'll win the lottery! :rotfl:

My Mum has cousins in Clitheroe (?) too......... :flower:
Small world :wave2:

Make sure you get there during rugby season and take in a match or two!
