Hi all! My DH and 2 DDs are off to Vistana Resort next week. Does anyone have adice for us on where to stay within the resort, eat in the area, theme Park strategies, etc.... Our kids are 2 and 1, so we will be doing things slowly, but are still hoping to cram in some fun. Any adice would be appreciated! Thanks!

What size unit do you have as far as sleeping configuration? Alot depends on that and I think alot depends on which day you are checking in. Once you figure out what section or whatever you want I would suggest using the Diamond Checkin on their website. Saves alot of time and gives them your requests ahead of time.

We have a 2 BR, sleeping 8, privacy for 6, checking in Sunday. I have signed up for the Diamond Lane Check in. Do you have any advice as to what section to request. We would love a great pool and to be in one of the newer, bigger units.

Thanks so much!

I'm not sure myself on which days are which sections but the 2 newest sections are Cascades and Lakes so either one would be good. The newer units are actually smaller than most of the older units by the way but are of course, newer.

Cascades section is near the front of the resort and near the Super Pool that has water squirts and a pool bar/snack bar. I believe the General Store and other stuff is near there too. The Lakes is back further in a quieter section and also has nice pools by it, I think their own and the Fountains pool is there.

We have stayed in both sections and they are both nice. One is more near the "action" I guess you could say and one is quieter.

You could update your Diamond Checkin thing and request either of these sections or one. I think they are usually pretty good about honoring that but of course alot of people want the newer sections.

Anything but the Courts section is good and I dont think they sleep 8 anyway, and if they do there are only a few units.

Thank you for all the valuable information. I will update my request to include Cascades or Lakes. Do you know anything about Fountains? I appreciate your advice about Courts...I have heard less than stellar things about this section. You know how it is when you have so much riding on one vacation! I want it to be great.

Thanks again for taking the time to help!

I know there are 2 Fountains sections, Fountains 1 and Fountains 2. They may try to put you there as they do sleep 8 also. They are the newest after the Lakes but from what I hear are starting to show alot of wear...

Alot of people talk about the Spas section being pretty nice even though they are older. They are located near the Cascades so you are still close to that pool ares and I think the units are supposed to be pretty big. An option if they refuse to give you Lakes or Cascades. Just know that in the Lakes section you will need to drive over to the Super Pool unless they are good walkers.

We "own" a 2 bed Spas unit and it sleeps 8. its great. When we were there in Feb it had new soft furnishings, curtains etc and was newly decorated. They have since replaced the carpet. The TV's are a bit dated but they all show the same programmes so what does that matter? It was very clean.
It is directly opposite the Super pool and only a short walk from the Cascades pool and the General store. I cant wait to go back, roll on Feb 14th.

You're sure to have fun at Vistana! We own in Fountains and Cascades. Although, Fountains is a little older and a bit more worn, all the units (in my experience) have been very clean and well equipped. (Have stayed in Fountains I, Fountains II, Cascades, Lakes and this year stayed in Spas.) Plus the one time we had a complaint (and it was minor), the maintenance staff was all over it immediately.

Good luck!
