We are in Disney in April for two weeks with our 11 & 8 yr olds for the first time. We are really excited and trying to plan. We have a 6 day hopper pass, we want to do Universal & Sea World for sure too. We'll have a day or two for the beach, a day of shopping, one day for the Long Beach Indy race, and one day for Hollywood/American Girl Place.

I know all my questions are probably on the boards but maybe someone would be willing to help with a few questions.

What beach is the best to go to?
Where should we head to do some shopping? a mall and outlet please!
What day would be best for Universal and Sea World?

I'm sure I have more but I reading up on restaurants to go to (booked Goofy's Kitchen, Blue Bayou, Pirates dinner show already), fast pass system, etc....

As you can see I'm a planner and a need to know person!!LOL :D

I can't answer all your questions but I will try to answer a few.

I think your best bet for a beach in either Huntington or Newport, relatively close to Disney. There is a great mall at Newport called Fashion Island that may be fun to shop at. You could also shop at the Farmers Market (Hollywood area, I believe) or 3rd Street Promenade (Santa Monica area). Don't know what day is best to go to Universal, however, do plan for traffic on the way back to Disney (i'm assuming you are staying near disney?). You may also want to check the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood and there is a Disney Soda Fountain next door that looks really fun!
