Tried to post this on the community board, but so far have no responses so I thought I'd give it a whirl over here! Looking for a retirement comm. for my dad and his girlfriend. They are over 70, but still in great shape and would like to live somewhere within a couple hours drive to NYC preferably in Connecticut. Any info is greatly appreciated since I don't even know where to start looking!

CT is nice...Do they like to drive in the winters? I live in NE CT. It is nice and quiet. Not hectic. If they like the casinos, they are 30 minutes away.

If you have any questions, let me know.

They might look into Heritage Village in Southbury. It is a good sized retirement community with its own golf course. It is about 2 hours from both NYC and Boston and has easy access to I-84

Hi, thanks for responding! Is there a specific place you have in mind? How far from NYC?

Karmic, thanks for your suggestion-sounds nice. I'll definetly check it out.

Try "The Gables" in Guilford or "Evergreen Woods" in Branford...both easily accessible to metro North and NYC.
