Can I please get some recommendations for a good value off-site hotel near Universal/IOA? There will be two adults, one tween and a teenager traveling.

Most of the hotels in the Major Blvd. area are of good value. The Doubletree, Hyatt Place, Holiday Inn are all very close and reasonably priced.

I stayed at the Sheraton Studio City and would definitely stay there again. Its about 1/2 a mile from US/IOA on International Drive. There is a Doubletree across the street from US/IOA that gets good reviews. I haven't stayed there so I can't comment personally.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place on Caravan Court. Great hotel, lots of room, highly recommend. I got it in July for $105 a night...

I've stayed at the Hyatt Place on Caravan Court twice...it's DIRECTLY across from UO. Around $100-$115 a night and it's very clean. Free in-room wifi too which I love.

I like the Country Inn and Suites on Universal Blvd. It is about a mile from Universal, very clean, and very good free breakfast. If you are member of their rewards program rooms run between 55.00 and 85.00 per night. We stay here every trip to US.

Hyatt Place! Very clean and tons of space. They have free breakfast in the morning and we actually walked to the parks from this hotel. Just be careful crossing the street! I paid $50, but I think that was when I booked it off Hotwire.

Do NOT stay at the LaQuinta right by Universal. In fairness, it's been a few years but that place was awful when we tried it. All of the other area LaQuintas seem to be fine if you're looking for a budget place.

We just stayed at the Bestwestern Universal Inn (Nov 3-10th). It is nothing fancy but it was clean and had a free breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, cereal, etc) which came in handy. My dad was with us so we got the Senior/AARP discount that brought our room to $59 per night. I think it would have been around $79 normally.

They had a free shuttle that left at 8am and 10am each morning and came back at 6pm and 8pm I think.

We actually walked though; we cut through the parking lot of the Double Tree (right next door) and crossed the street at Major Blvd. Took us about 15 minutes to get to Citywalk.

Thanks!! It looks like the Hyatt Place is it w/AAA I am looking at around $80 a night and tripadvisor.com has nothing but good reviews. The rate includes free con. breakfast and w/ my 11 year-old son.. that saves a ton :goodvibes Thanks! everyone
