We have a 10:30 ADR for Whispering Canyon breakfast during our "off day" scheduled for our trip in May.

We were thinking of spending some time hanging around WL and Ft. Wilderness.

How early can I arrive at WL and can I spend a decent amount of time playing around the resort or is that highly frowned upon?

Thanks!

You are welcome to enjoy the resort and look around. However, you are not allowed to use the pool if you are not a guest at that resort or a DVC member.

The resort is beautiful and well worth your time. Be sure to see the geyser out by the lake. Enjoy!

Have a wonderful vacation.

As the PP said, you're welcome to look around the resort, go shopping, etc. (no pool or hot tub use and I think the fitness room might also be only for guests of that resort). The guard at the gate might issue you a three hour parking pass, so that's the general rule of thumb for how long non-resort guests can park at a resort while enjoying the amenities of that resort.
