Where can I find a list of off-site restaurants? We will be in WDW for 8 days/7 nights and we are trying to watch how much we spend for eating out. Will eating off-site save us some money? I know there is an Olive Garden somewhere near WDW. This is my son's favorite restaurant and we will probably try to go there one night. Any other suggestions? The thought of spending $75-100 a night for dinner does not appeal to me. We will be eating at Hoop De Doo, Crystal Palace (breakfast or lunch), Chef Mickey's (dinner), '50's Prime Time (lunch) and Whispering Canyon (WL).

How much do you usually budget for food per day. I figure we will do one sit down a day and wing it the other meals. We will try to eat breakfast in the room. It will be me, DH and DSs (9 - very picky eater and 14 - eats everything).

Thanks in advance!

Hi Denise!
We do the same - eat a few meals at DWD - last year had Chef Mickey's for Breakfast and enjoyed it so much went back for dinner later in the wk (wasn't as good as bkfst though - but was cheap). Also ate at Germany in Epcot - Biergarten which was a buffet - Fun! Food just okay... Also ate at Grand Concourse(?) for steak at Contemporary (so-so) - (we really liked the Contemporary because of the boat rentals which we did for a good part of one day and my dd loved the Chuckie Cheese like game room they have)
But our best meals were off-site - did Olive Garden and Pizza Uno - stayed at a timeshare with kitch and balcony and we did takeout and enjoyed our dinner on balcony - GREAT food at great prices! Since we had kitch we cooked bkfst in AM if we were "home".
3 pages ago on this board someone linked a map of the area with all stores and restaurants listed - I bookmarked it - http://www.kissimmee-us192.com/map/192mapindex.htm - it looks helpful - we're going in 2 1/2 wks and i haven't gotten around to mapping and plotting our offsite restaurant meals yet - we liked pizza Uno and Olive Garden so much my dh wants to stick with those ONLY (we don't have those restaurants by us here).
Enjoy your trip!

Bahama Breeze is a really good off site restaurant. There are 2 in the area. It is also very popular with the locals. It is owned by the same corp. as Red Lobster and Olive Garden but it is very different. You can get whole and half portions. I usually cannot finish a half portion. Even my picky MIL liked it there.

My kids and I love Outback.... Mac 'n Cheese is as good as it gets for kids. Daughter (9) now loves the prime rib, so we order a 16 ouce and she eats. Bread is fresh and hot.... Happy hours are great also.

Prices I'd say are30% cheaper offsite and there are tons of coupons available......

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like lots of great options out there.

emmalgin -

where can I get discount coupon books?

Every corner there are books available and tourist info kiosks.....

Get info from any book as to the better restaurants. Olive Garden is just outside Downtown Disney and Crossroads shopping centre. Also heard Jungle Jims is very good and fun (cheap Rainforest alternative, with better food).

Pebbles is also good (have been there).
