off-site recommendations?

i have been looking on travelocity & orbitz on the net & the reviews scare me...dirty rooms, moldy bathrooms, rude staff, etc - for several hotels that appear nice based on description. I just returned last week from POP for $55/night - i'm spoiled - i LOVED it - but this time, we will need to stay off-property between disney & universal in may. i'm thinking the downtown disney area & over towards universal. we're 2 adults, infant & toddler - hoping for around $100/night. any recommendations? thanks.

it is between WDW and US/IOA

Cypress Pointe & Cypress Pointe Grand Villas are a good thought & pretty much right inbewteen Disney & Universal. Or any of the hotels in the Palm Parkway area.

We really like Homewood Suites in Kissimmee. We get a 2 room suite (bedroom & living area). That's nice to be able to put the kids to bed and not have to worry about watching TV, etc. Two TVs-one in the living area and 1 in the bedroom. It has a full sized fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher (as well as plates/utensiles). There is a free breakfast buffet daily and a free Manager's reception Sun-Thurs 5-7PM (a light dinner). It cost us $80/night with AAA discount.

We stayed at Comfort Suites on Florida Parkway(?) It was next to Old Town. It was clean and the breakfast was wonderful (no skim milk though). I looked at the pool -it was a little small but I didn't go up close -we were only there for 1 night. There are no restaurants in it but there are tons right outside. And there is a Publix close by.
