I dont want to spend the money for one of the universal hotels and the entertaiment discounts are not available, so are there any hotels in a $40 - 60/night price range that are located within walking distance or provide a reasonable shuttle service that any of you have stayed at?

You could check the Holiday Inn's rates. I would go to the Holiday Inn website or Expedia and look for the Universal Holiday Inn across from the entrance to the Universal complex. It was real reasonable when we went, had a pretty good shuttle and you could also walk even though you have to cross a big, busy highway. Good luck!

www.usoinfo.com has the Clarion Universal and Best Western Movieland around that price. I've stayed at both and I have good thoughts about my experience.

Just booked Holiday Inn at Maingate to Universal for 55 a night with e-card. Is this a good deal? Can you walk across the street? Anyone else know of any other hotels in this proximity with lower prices?

entertainment card - u get great deals with it - right now you can buy a book from www.entertainment.com for $9.99 plus $5 shipping - buy it for your local region and you can use the card for the hotel disc in florida

Where is this Wyndham hotel?

I think the $55 rate is pretty good for this location. You can walk across the street but it is busy. Luckily there's a pretty lengthy traffic light that helps. We usually used the scheduled bus transportation. Pretty efficient and the people were nice.

I'm trying to remember the hotel across the street from the Holiday Inn.... It looked nice but it probably costs more. Does anyone know the place I'm talking about?

Is it the Radisson Towers? I'm curious about this one also. If the limited FOL holds we will be staying offsite from here on out. I won't be paying $200 a night for limited when I can go in the off season and stay for 4 nights for the price of one and have no lines.

Wyndeham is at Sand Lake and International. Have to take the shuttle.

Footballrules: On the entertainment card site they list HI at $74. Did you call the hotel and get the $55 rate?

Thanks for your help.

FYI

We booked the Holiday Inn Universal Entertainment rate $74.00 the week of December 27th...

We tentatively have Doubletree (Formely Radisson Twin Towers) for $89.00 internet rate for the same week....

We will probably cancel the Radisson, we stayed at the HI in 2001 and was pleased with our stay... :bounce:
