We're thinking of a trip to California and are researching hotel possibilities. It seems that we'll get more bang for our buck if we stay off site. I'd like to find a hotel with a great pool (especially since we're used to WDW pools with fun water slides) that will be fun for the kids when we're not in the parks. Any suggestions?

year2late has good taste!
the mariott was nice. nice pool with a pretty big shallow end. We did PriceLine.com 4/8/03 which was the same night we wanted to stay, (last minute hotels) a tuesday for a 3 star for $80 a night and got mariott. About 2 blocks walking distance from DL

Depending upon when you want to go, HoJo's on Harbor (walking distance to the park) is putting in a new kids water play area and fixing up one of their two pools right now. I think it's planned to be ready for summer crowds, but I'm not sure about that.

I have heard WONDERFUL reviews of the HoJo's and I have reservations to stay there in August. The grounds are very tropical, rooms are niced sized, and very clean. I'm looking forward to our end of the summer trip and hope to spend some time watching the kids play in the new area.
