Hello

Fiance and I are taking a Carnival Cruise out of Port Canaveral:cheer2: and want to fly in the day before to go to Universal (day of arrival) and to Downtown Disney (morning of cruise day). Planning on staying at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes but have heard mixed reviews about their shuttle service to the parks so my questions are: (1) "rely" on their shuttle or go through someplace like Mears and; (2) stay someplace else, closer to either Universal or Disney?

Thanks in advance:cool1:

if you fly in and plan to spend the day at the darkside that day, i would stay onsite or nearby the parks.
you can use the Mears shuttle or taxi.

if the next day you have to be at dtd, take a taxi there.

This thread would be more appropriate on the Transportation board.

Is there a particular reason you don't want to rent a car? I've relied on off site shuttles before and they're not very convenient (only certain hours, and slow). By the time you pay for multiple mears trips, you could probably do a one or two day car rental and be on YOUR schedule.

You can probably even get a car at MCO and return it at the port.

After reading several posts on different boards:crazy2:, I"m now wondering if it would be better to walk to either park by staying at: DoubleTree @ Universal or Courtyard Lake Buena Vista in Marriott Village vs. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista; or is there somewhere better? Plan on spending more time at Universal and only going to Downtown Disney for the HOB Gospel Brunch, so figuring walking to one park and taking alternate transportation to the other park:confused3. PLEASE ADVISE as to optimal suggestions:grouphug:.

Thanks in advance;)
