We are considering staying off-site to save a some dollars when we go down next August. We might be driving which will make staying oof-site a little more justified.

can anyone recommend aome good hotels? So far I checked out The Double Tree Suites,Buena Vista Suites,Caribe Royale Resort , and the Nickelodean hotel.:confused3

Has anyone stayerd at any of these hotels and what are your thoughts on them?

We've stayed at both Nick Hotel (twice) and Windsor Hills (5 times). In my opinion, you can't beat the value of a WH Condo. You should be able to find a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo for around $100 a night. Of course, you won't have anyone making your bed every day... but if you don't care it goes un-made, nobody will tell on you ;)

The Sheraton Vistana Resort often has specials on 1 and 2 bedroom condos. We stayed there last August for $99.00 per night in a 2 bed 2 bath.
Specials usually listed on AllEars or Dis. Very close to DTD. We loved it! :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Doubletree a couple of years ago and really loved it. Check mousesavers.com for their deal (included breakfast). It's around $120 per night and the room we got had a seperate room with a queen bed and a fold out couch which was perfect for our little ones.

We are considering staying there on our trip next year to save a few bucks and give the girls more space to unwind.

You won't be disappointed!

We just stayed at the Gaylord Palms resort last weekend, and it was better than any of the Disney resorts in our family's opinion!

The hotel has a Florida theme and there is an Everglades, a Key West, and a St. Augustine section as well as a nice shopping area, complete with a Disney souvenir shop. The family pool is a lot of fun too with a zero entry area, a waterslide, and a play area. We had a lot of fun just exploring the resort, watching the alligator feedings, and going swimming. My boys said that the resort was their favorite part of the vacation.

The rooms are decent sized with two queens (or one king), a TV, a desk and a dressing area/bath with a tub. My only complaint is that there wasn't much storage in the dressing area. The staff was extremely helpful and prompt with every request. It's pretty easy to find discounted rooms, so if you choose to stay here, hunt around for a discount. I found one for $119.00 per night.

The resort itself is ridiculously close to Disney, we were in the TTC parking lot in under 10 minutes and other lots in less time than that.

We've always stayed off site. We have stayed at Comfort Inn LBV (never again), Fairfield Suites, Little Lake Bryan (good hotel), Nick Hotel (definitely going back but not at a peak time), Hawthorne Suites on Palm Parkway in LBV
(my favorite for the quiet, breakfast and the hot tub).
