I posted on the Budget board, and they suggested I try here, so here it goes!
ello everyone,
This board is awesome, everyone is so helpful. I am finally going to Disney for my 50th!bday! It is just for me, husband and son are Universal people (!!!) I don’t like thrill rides
I haven’t been since I was 12, so it is a lifelong dream. The only reason they are coming is to make me happy.
So this is my dilemma:I need a good budget off-site hotel.
I’ve looked at Buena Vista Suites Hotel. It’s only 80 dollars a night,-
-has a shuttle to Disney
- free breakfast
-from reviews seems clean and pretty close.
What do you think?? Anyone have first hand experience? Can you recommend any other hotel?
Thanks in advance

We stayed here for 1 night in 2016 before checking into a condo. The set up of the suite is great if you are traveling with an older son. The extra room is great. We found our room to be clean but the bathroom smelled really bad. I think it had more to do with how dated it was than the cleanliness of that particular day. There was no visible dirt, etc. It was just grimy and old looking and the smell was unpleasant. It could have been a plumbing issue. If they have done renovations since you may not run into that problem.
The free breakfast was fine. It was in a large room. We found seats quickly despite it being very busy and they had a lot of different things to choose from- cold and hot. Not anywhere near as good as Embassy Suites breakfast, but you will find something to fill you up for a day at the parks.
Location is good in terms of park proximity.
I think $80 is a good rate for this hotel. We paid $140 because we booked a couple hours before we checked in. We were driving to FL and not sure what our stopping point would be so waited to book.
Have fun!

We were there last week and it was awful. Looks are deceiving. It’s pretty; however, the parking was far, down a hill, and no sidewalks. Our room had tons of ants on the counter. We were told no other rooms available. We said that isn’t okay and they moved us. The new room wasn’t very clean, but no bugs. We had to call maintenance again because the shower filled like a bathtub. Finally, one night we forgot our key (my fault), got a new one from the front desk, and we were locked out. Had to sit in the hallway waiting for security to replace the battery on the keypad. We would not stay there again.

For your 50th and a special trip I would say no to here. The location is on the corner of two VERY VERY busy roads, you can't walk anywhere, the shuttle will be infrequent - with location giving you little options and the breakfast spot way too small for the size hotel. The pool, if you want to use is the size of a backyard pool. And does $80 include the resort fee?

What are your dates and I'll play with some other options?

Sorry it took so long to answer!, my dates are the end of August, we'd like to go for 4 days (a park a day, no hopper.) We are thinking to go to Buena Vista Palace in Disney Springs, that has the 60 day FP and extra magic hours. Looks like a great deal and it's refundable (the 80 dollars wasn't) anyone ever been?

Just make sure that you take into consideration the extra resort fee. All Disney Springs hotels have (and probably must offsite hotels have it).

Once i discovered www.skyauction.com things have been awesome.
They have the timeshare " vacation club" rooms on there for great prices no pressure no presentation.
We spend the same 100 a night or less on really nice resorts..
Thanks to this board i found this site.

Hello everyone, we have decided after taking into consideration resort fees, magic express, shuttle time, we have decided to splurge on a Moderate!!! We are going to book Gran Destino Tower at about 200 euros more than originally budgeted. I just have to figure out the cancellation policy! I wrote another post but no one has answered. thank you everybody for all help and making even the planning so much fun!

I think you have the wrong hotel as I have stayed at this hotel many times and the parking lot is at the front and back of the hotel and it is flat. The hotel has been recently renovated and for $80 it's a great price for the suite with breakfast included.
