Off site guest and FP comments

Our family will be in WDW the second week of April and staying off site. Looking to hear from other off site guest about your experience with the new FP system. Now mind you we are not going to base our trip by what we have heard so far if we are able to get them while in the park that's great if not we are doing a park a day and staying in that park for the day. We are there to relax and have another wonderful Disney World trip for our children.
So, let's hear your experience good or bad and any recommendations you may have?
